APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS ( • I H A V E S E E N R A I N B E F O R E • ) Conan Katharine Fader sighed as she slumped her book bag over her shoulder and entered the Grand Central Station. After being back in the city for the second semester of school, she had figured out most things. Making Merry, Stetson, or Abel drive her to school got her no where but a good few hours late due to traffic and their horrible driving and directional skills. Hailing a cab took forever and offered the same problem as making a family member take her. Walking there made her miss the entire day of school and meant getting a taxi to bring her back home once she got there an hour after school let out. The whole first semester had been a test drive at life in the big city. She had only managed being on time and okay for class the last month of school because her dad woke up super early to drive her there, but both were too exhausted to function properly at school and work, so other means of transportation had been figured out during winter break and here she was: the solution was the Grand Central Station. It wasn’t too far from their house and was probably the quickest way to get to school. It would bring her close enough to the school to walk and still be a little early without anyone having to waking up at ungodly hours.
She was armed with a cell phone and pepper spray, and she’d even managed to sneak a pocket knife into her backpack. She’d be safe and last summer at Camp Half Blood had taught her at least enough self defense to defend against raping, mugging mortals. Conan eyed every adult male suspiciously and glared at those who dared look back at her. It was so creepy and she was stating to regret this decision. Her father and brothers had assured her that many of her classmates would be taking the same way to school, but so far Conan hadn’t seen anyone. Not one familiar face or uniform anywhere. Her hazel eyes were wide and sharp, taking in everyone and everything. She was so creeped out…Even the old woman in one corner with a walker was starting to freak her out a little bit. They could be monsters, she thought to herself, recalling how things had gone at the end of last year. Or they could just be horrible excuses for mortals that could easily overpower a demigod…At least one as untrained and as young as Conan.
Finally, walking down the train a little ways she spotted someone who looked vaguely familiar in a very familiar uniform. Conan sighed in relief, glad that there was an empty seat beside the girl. “Hey, mind if I sit here?” she asked, sitting down a moment later whether or not the girl said yes. She let out a deep breath and pulled her bag into her lap and smiled at the blond. “I’m Conan Fader! I guess we pretty much go to the same school…And I think…Oh you were at….Summer camp, right?” she asked, not mentioning it by name but she was pretty sure she had seen the girl there. “Anyway sorry, I’ve never taken the train before and everyone else was giving me the willies. Bad experiences with people last year so I guess I’m kinda, I don’t know, paranoid and all,” she chattered easily. There was no telling what this girl thought of her, but Conan honestly didn’t care. She had someone to sit by and even if the girl didn’t like her, and even if the girl was only about her age and size, she did feel safer.

MEMORIES ARE BITTERSWEET THE GOOD TIMES WE CAN'T REPEATTHOSE DAYS ARE GONE AND WE CAN NEVER GET THEM BACK
This was the biggest downside to being so much younger than the girls she lived with. At times she thought about being asked to be home schooled just as Elena was. But as much as she hated the long rides to school alone, she did live school...well some things about it. The classes were a bore and the teachers weren't exactly balls full of sunshine, but she did like a lot of the students...her fellow classmates. They made all of this worth it. The getting up super early and the walk, not to mention the train rides...which is where she found herself at that moment.
That day she was in far too good of a mood for anyone to possibly ruin it. Over the weekend Melanie had text her, wanting for her to meet Mel at a local restaurant. Sure spending time with her had sounded like fun, but things only got that much better when she arrived. There with Melanie was a beautiful young woman...she seemed familiar but she didn't know her...Azrael soon found out she was a goddess named Danna, but more importantly her Mother..and to make things better, she had a brother named Christian. He was...interesting, she supposed was the best way to describe him.
She couldn't wait to get to know him and their Mother. A smile was on Azrael's lips as she glanced out the window. The world passing by her I'n a blur. It was all there but she didn't see any of it. Her mind far too caught up in her thoughts to focus upon anything else. She was finally claimed, and everything made sense now. So they weren't some big happy family and nothing had changed yet. She was happy to know that she even had a family at all...and that her Mother had wanted her...she was just worried about what would happen to them.
Any and all ill will she might have felt towards her Mother quickly vanished the moment she finally met her. Danna was the most beautiful, amazing goddess in the entire world and she was her Mother. She shifted her weight in her seat, unable to totally stat still...she was just far too happy with how things were now. Maybe it had taken thirteen years, but that didn't matter...she knew who her Mother was and she was claimed now, that's all that she cared about.
In her thoughts, out of the corner of her eye she saw a girl around her age walk down the aisle only to stop near where she was sitting. Now most rides to school she sat alone and to be honest she preferred it that way, though normally there was no one her age on the train. Today seemed to be an exception though. Her green eyes for a moment feel to the open seat beside her before she slowly nodded her head. "Umm sure, if you want." She replied, pulling her bag into her lap and scooting over a bit to give her more room to sit.
It was strange having someone with her, but she wasn't going to complain. These rides were rather lonely, and a change like this was something she was more than happy for. "Yeah I am, well I did go to summer camp. Every year. What cabin were you in? I was in thirteen last year but it might change this summer.. Oh and I'm Azrael Vulcan..." She explained, trying to hide how pleased she was by that fact. She'd be out of the unclaimed cabin next summer, because she had been claimed. Now though she was curious about here... Who was her parent. She smiled, nodding her head in an understanding manner. "I understand, I mean I used to hate taking the train when I first started to but I just got used to it. It's not that bad, I promise."
