SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS MEDiana Juliet Boelyn had been out and about all day long. Being as she was the mother of a seven year old and a three year old, one might think she was busy dealing with her children and bills and a job and the other sorts of things mothers dealt with on a daily basis. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Her sister, whom she lived with, got the girls ready for the day, sending Caroline off to school and dropping Lydia off at daycare while she went to her own job. Poor Lydia Jeanette was in daycare, despite the fact that her own mother didn’t have a job…Not yet. That was exactly what Diana was working on today. Diana was picky and never settled for anything less than she deserved. With no college degree, it sort of limited what she could do, which made the job hunt even more frustrating. She had dressed her very best and looked all over New York City…Or at least the areas she hadn’t covered already. Hostess at Re Sette wasn’t looking so horrible at the moment, though she much preferred a manager position or something of that nature.
It wasn’t so bad for Diana, though, as it might have been for other demigods looking for a mortal job. Most demigods were dyslexic but her late father had dedicated most of his life to helping her through it and steadily teaching her the things that her dyslexia prohibited. Her brain was hard wired for Ancient Greek, but Cort Boelyn had done all of the research possible to helping her learn reading and writing English better. It still wasn’t perfect, but it was better than most of her kind and it was a fact she was proud of, and something she was still to this day working on. She’d even convinced Della to help Caroline the way Cort had helped her. Diana herself was much to busy to do it and wasn’t really fond of children enough to spend that much dedicated time with them, even if they were her own. Of course, she knew she did love them in some way…It was why she hadn’t given them up for adoption, why she had not neglected them completely and made sure someone (Della) was taking care of them, and even now and then gave Della instructions for what she’d like her to do with Caroline and Lydia that she herself couldn’t make herself do. The only thing Della required for all of her services was that Diana spend a little time with her daughters now and then, which was a fine trade off in Diana’s mind.
Life wasn’t easy or good. With the constant coming and going of Royce, the death of her father, two little girls, no job, living with her younger sister…It wasn’t exactly the life she had dreamed of. And even worse, she hadn’t spoken to her best friend in what seemed like forever. This was her life at twenty three years old. Diana sighed and stepped out into the Grand Central Station after a long day of work, just looking for work. Her mood wasn’t much better, she only had gathered a few applications to fill out tonight and return tomorrow before looking once more, and none of the prospects looked all that great. Eventually, she’d have to settle for something, but she was too determined to do something like that. She was brilliant! She was a daughter of Athena, and she couldn’t find a job. Even the normally calm and mature Diana was starting to lose her patience with things. She half walked, half stomped through the station, pausing and glancing over her shoulder at a familiar face. “Katherine?” she asked uncertainly, unsure if she should be happy or infuriated to see her best friend after so long.

Life certainly had a knack for scrwwing people over. All the happiness in the world is put in reach only to be ripped away. All that's left is the nightmares you were once too blind to see. Karma's a bitch? Well Katherine Elizabeth Petrova was starting to feel like karma's bitch. Her life had been perfect, beyond perfect...she had the love of her life. And with Damien, she felt that she could take on anyone, survive anything. He was the reason she wasn't terrified at the idea of having at her age. But then reality cane crashing down upon her.
When her parents realized that Katherine was pregnant, things could have still been okay. If Damien agreed with what she said and to be with her, she'd have the blessings of her Father. But Damien hadn't agreed...he denounced her...called her a cheating whore and never claimed to love her. It was hard enough to hear all of that but...it sadly got much worse than that. Not only did Damien want nothing to so with her, but neither did her parents. They believed Damien...they let her stay until her baby was born...
But once her daughter was born, she was taken away. She never got to hold her daughter or look at her...and then she was kicked out of her house. Left alone to fend for herself she moved from town to town. Offering her body and services in exchange for money...food...shelter...and clothes. It was not even a week ago that she got enough to finally go to Anerica...and now? She found herself on a train towards New York city, it was there that she was determined to turn her life around. She had to turn things around, she couldn't live like this the rest of her life.
Last stop...the last stop was where she needed to go. She sighed under her breath, pushing against the seat in order to help herself stand up. The train had finally arrived at grand central station. She felt excited, and rather nervous at the same time. In a way this was her last shot...every last cent she had collected had been spent I'n order to get herself here. America was the land of the free and all that, and New York city was the heart of it all. So much promise, of course she was starting to think things aren't as good as they seem.
She had a few possessions, all of which fit into a small black bag. She turned a bit I'n order to pick it up off of the seat. She clutched it tightly against her chest. Katherine tried to act calm...like she was the most confident girl in the world as she stepped off of the train and into the station itself. She swallowed, her wide blue eyes darting from one corner of the room to the next. It was so big...so many people, she didn't have the slightest idea as to where to go. It was much bigger than she would have ever expected to.
She glared, muttering under her breath as a man risky shoved past her. She stumbled back a few steps, nearly falling onto the ground. Luckily enough she managed to catch her balance before she fell straight on to her ass. Oh if only she could have given him a piece of her mind. Of course he was long gone before she'd even had the chance to fully turn around. She was half tempted to go hunt him down, but she had something else to worry about which may or may not have been a good thing. She nearly winced at the all too familiar voice.
Reluctantly, oh so very slowly, she forced her gaze foward. To the the girl who had called her name. Diana...The girl who had been her best friend, the one she hadn't seen I'n quite a while. Her heart lurched...part of her wanting nothing more than to run to her friend and throw her arms around her..:take comfort in the sight of familiar face. Bit she couldn't because as much as she wanted to be near her...she didn't want her friend to know what had happened to her. "Dinana...what are you doing here...?" this is how you talk
