The Start Of Something....
*********** Starting something, its not easy to do. For when you start something, you are expected to finish it no matter what the troubles may be. That doesn't always happen, unfortunately, some things are never finished. Starting may be difficult, but it can be simple if the task is never finished. Its a bit contradicting when one ponders such things. Starting and Finishing... how can someone do one, and never complete the other? Don't the two go hand-n-hand? Why would someone start something without finishing? It was troublesome for many, completing every task from the start. Having those who don't think a task couldn't be completed, doesn't help the troublesome matter. Let's hope the new generations will complete tasks....
These thoughts swam in the mind of the young blacksmith as the mallet hit the red-hot metal before him. It always seemed he did him best smithing when he had something to ponder as he worked. Not only did it make time fly quickly, but it also laced meaning into the metals he worked with. With his mind slowly came back to reality, a small satisfied smirk graced across his handsome face. He rose the cooling axe off the anvil, inspecting his work. The detailing was incredible, images of the Demigod's Godly parent lined the inside of the Axe. This one, was a special order by a Child of Athena, so he made it as personal as his skill allowed. Never had the teen had a negative feedback on his work, even if he, himself, didn't promote his work.
Austin's smirk slowly became an all out grin as he put the hot axe in some cold water. The sounds of the sizzling water and site of the steam made all his muscles relax. Ever since he could remember, he had always had a fascination with Fire and/or heat itself. After coming to Camp Half-Blood, he became obvious the reason behind it was his own Godly father, Hephaestus, the God of Fire and Forge. This also answered to questions of why he had a natural gift for Smithing, whether it be Blacksmithing, Silversmithing, and/or etc. It was also the reason for his fascination for metals, rocks, and minerals of any kind. This meant, he could also Wield metals together with such skill that even the professional would be jealous.
Despite having all these skills, he wasn't exactly a popular guy. Most of the time he kept to himself, always working in the Armory, eating, or chilling at the beach. It made his days rather boring and a bit scheduled. It was getting a bit old for him, but there wasn't much else he did. Maybe there would be something new in him life eventually. Whatever that was... AJ wasn't sure.

It was safe to say that Aphrodite had more children than most of the gods and goddesses. She couldn't remember most of them half of the time. Most demigods...though there were gods as well. Of course the amount of children she had didn't come as a surprise. She was the goddess of love, beauty, and sexuality. Her sex life was amazing, being the most beautiful person ever, it did come in handy when it came to getting what she wanted.
She was married, she had been for quite some time. Zeus had married her off because he was afraid the problems her beauty would cause among the other gods and goddesses. So he married her off, not even to a man she was interested in at all. Marriage wasn't hard though...nothing changed about her since she was forced in to marriage. She still had her countless lovers, affair upon affair. In over a thousand years, she was never faithful, not to anyone.
The Earth certainly was changing...it always was changing and it was hard to decide if she preferred things now or before. The intelligence of mortals was certainly slipping, well some at least. They however were a lot more open to things than once upon a time. A very, very long time ago things were very different. Touching was blaspheme...the skin of your wrist was even provocative. She had no problem getting what she wanted back then, and now? It was almost boring, it was so easy.
Nearly everywhere she went, every pair of eyes in the room would always be on her. She was a goddess, none of them mattered. They were nothing compared to her. All eyes, men and women alike couldn't help but to watch her. The goddess of beauty, love, and sexuality, it was all part of her charm. She had yet to come across someone who could resist her. If someone could, she'd be insulted and in a way actually impressed. Not that she was actually considering the 'what ifs' of a situation like that...it would never happen. Not in her thousand years of life, and it never would.
As boring as things going on, something rather big was going on. Something that she simply couldn't ignore no matter how much she wanted to. There was a rather large amount of unclaimed demigods, a number that only seemed to be growing. Many of the gods were becoming worried and there was even talk of a rebellion. She personally didn't think there was any room for concern, but it was hard not to be worried with the way everyone else was acting. Maybe this wasn't a brilliant idea but she was growing rather tired of others blaming her for this.
None of the unclaimed demigods were hers. Despite what others believed, she wouldn't so something like that. She cared for all of her children, even if she couldn't be close to them all. So in order to get the blame off herself, she needed to figure out the truth. Which was why she found herself on Earth, at camp halfblood more correctly. She was going to blend in, and simply observe and hopefully figure something out. She personally had spent little time around the camp, so not many would recognize her..certainly not the boy she had been watching for a few moments. "Do you mind if I join you...?" She asked only after taking a few steps closer to him

As he stood there, waiting for his last weapon of the day to cool, he didn’t notice the new presence in the Armory at first. He kept his back turned to the presence, mind in deep contemplation on what to do next. There wasn’t a time he could think of that he finished his work so early. Now what? Was there anything else he could do? Not that he knew of. With a grumble of frustration, AJ ran a frustrated hand through his sweaty black hair. Maybe he could go by the beach and relax for a while… that’s when he turned around…
It took all of Austin’s willpower to keep himself calm at the sight of the beautiful young woman who was standing behind him. For a few seconds, he just stared at her… but quickly composed himself. His eyebrow rose at the question she asked him. Join him? In blacksmithing? This made him cross his arms over his chest in slight confusion. Not that he would mind such a beautiful woman working with, willingly, but she looked like she hadn’t smithed a day in her life. With a shake of his head, an amused smirk graced his features, something that rarely appeared around strangers. ”I was just finishing up...” He motioned to the cooling sword. ”That’s my last weapon of the day.”
There was a question that came to mind about the stranger behind him. Where did she come from all of a sudden? One minute, the Armory was empty, then there she was. Also, who was she? It was obvious she was of some relation to Aphrodite, but she was too pretty to just be a daughter. ”Not to sound rude, but… where did you come from? I haven’t seen you around the camp before, and I’ve been here a while.” A slender eyebrow rose, as his facial features went back to its usual stoic mask.
As he waited for an answer to the question, he turned to the fire poking around in it with a piece of wood. Why? He wasn’t sure… then again, AJ felt extremely nervous by the beauty. He wasn’t used to talking to someone so much. It was as if she cast some sort of spell over his very being. As if to take his mind off this, he grabbing a small piece of silver and laid it on the wood. There wasn’t much else to do, so, why not Silversmith a bit? Rarely, did he get the change to, especially in the presence of a young woman. Maybe it was the sudden need to impress her to compel him to. ”Name’s AJ… by the way.”
