HISTORY:
Balthazar William Ramsay was born the second child and son of Vera and Bartholomew Ramsay, the younger brother of Bart Jr. His childhood was rather strict under the rule of his very religious and Catholic father. There was little fun to be had in the household, even for a young child. Vera did her best to supply her sons with some forms of entertainment and did her best to keep her husband calm and off of the boys. Soon, though, Bart began tattling to their father about what Vera was doing, creating a huge enough fight to stop any treats from their mother for a while. Balthazar grew to dislike both his father and his brother, and appreciated his mother's compassion. He didn't feel like a child throughout his childhood, given chores at a very young age and was spanked and slapped and yelled at for the slightest wrongdoing.
When he was seven, Vera gave birth to his sister, a daughter they called Bernadette. Balthazar loved his sister and stood up for her against his father and brother, always earning him punishments, though it warmed Vera and Bernadette up to him very quickly. Even at school, being two years younger than Bart, Balthazar would always stand up for his brother. Despite not seeing eye to eye with the two Bartholomews, he did love him and he has always cared very deeply for his family, despite everything. Bart was appreciative of his brother's defense, though it hardly changed their relationship much.
All through school Balthazar made average grades and had plenty of friends, though having fun was looked down upon by his father and grades were held in such high esteem, it made it hard for him. Things didn't get much better when in junior high he began learning about Greek mythology and decided to believe in the likes of Zeus and Hera and Hades and all of them. His father was furious and forbade his son from doing almost anything and demanded his presence at church constantly. This force only made Balthazar stubbornly believe more in the gods and he began praying to them and was pleased and somewhat smug when things at home calmed down slightly, though he didn't care bring it up for fear of ruining things. He thanked the gods and spent more and more time at the library doing research on them all. Of course, in a town as small as Coos Bay it was hard to keep anything a secret, so he often visited the bigger libraries in surrounding cities instead.
Aside from a very strict home life, his personal life was rather calm. He had a few relationships in high school and just barely passed it all. He went to college to learn how to become a tattoo artist in New York where he met Amanda Dawson and a few other friends who shared his beliefs. They all roomed together in a loft in Brooklyn. Shortly after graduating and getting a job, a baby girl was delivered to Balthazar, a girl he named Calyx. He wasn't sure who her mother was, but DNA tests proved she belonged to him and Balthazar did his best to care for her, and when Amanda stepped in as a maternal figure, the two began seeing one another. After a few years, Balthazar and Amanda were married and not long after she became pregnant with a son they decided to call Homer. Life seemed great until Amanda was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she died within the year, not wanting to fight much longer.
Balthazar has done his best to care for his children, working hard to support them with the help of his friends. Not much has happened since Amanda's death, but recently Balthazar has been talking to a very attractive woman in a coffee shop now and then, someone he has steadily concluded is the goddess Hera. She never denies or accepts this theory, but he is certain it is her. Not only is he excited to have met a goddess, but he desires her and believes she deserves so much better than her unfaithful husband Zeus, and despite knowing how suicidal it would be to go against the king of the gods, he is willing to do so, if only to prove to Hera she deserves so much better.========================================
