Secretly, she wishes she were able to have demigod children. They help the other gods connect to the mortal world better. As she cannot, however, she can be of more aid to demigods than other gods, because she has no children to "favor"
She is always very heartbroken and very hurt every time Zeus is unfaithful, though she hides any evidence of pain behind anger and the need for revenge.
Hera wants another child with Zeus, considering she isn't particularly pleased with her current children, and hopes having another real child, a legitimate child, would keep him at bay for a little while.
She, at times, visits her "cabin" (she views it as more like a temple) at Camp Half Blood. She is sad and knows she will always find it empty, but she likes to imagine sometimes her own children being there. She'll also, at times, visit Zeus's cabin, if none of his children are currently there and claimed. As much as she would like to kill them for their existence, she knows she cannot...Not unless provoked, and even then, murder doesn't seem quite right.

ABOUTME:
Hera is often painted in a very negative, unkindly light by writers and artists and even regular people. Considering the horrible deeds other gods have done, she finds this highly unfair and hates that so many people dislike her.
From throwing her own son off of Mount Olympus, to doing her best to punish the mistresses and illegitimate children of her husband, it is easy to see her as cruel. She is a very jealous woman, and very hurt and angered and offended by her husband's affairs. Hera sees it as herself getting just revenge for her husband's unfaithfulness, though others don't tend to see it as just and more an outrageous act of cruelty. She feels she is very misunderstood. After all, it is more than the woman her husband falls for that she is jealous of, but jealous of all of the gods who have the ability to have demigod children, to connect to the mortal world, and she cannot.
Being the goddess of marriage, it isn't in her way to be unfaithful, no matter what Zeus does to her. She figures getting to his lovers and his children is a more satisfying mean of punishment, and views herself as the bigger person for not partaking in meaningless affairs.
She is first and foremost a family goddess, and any imperfections in her family (i.e. Hephaestus, Zeus's affairs, ect.) were viewed distastefully by her. She has since brown a bit used to the dysfunction and imperfection of her family, and she does love them all in her own way, despite her need to try to "fix" them, and make everyone fit into her ideal ways of things.
Hera can be motherly...She can be kind in her own way and is very serious and loyal to her duties as queen and mother of her family. It is more than just a title and more than just loving Zeus that is part of her role, and it is the responsibility over the kingdom and her family that she loves and would do anything for. No matter what people might say about her, there is nothing she wouldn't do to protect what is hers...What and who she rules, her family, anything that means anything to her. Hera isn't one to give up for any reason, and is used to this determination and loyalty when dealing with her husband.
While the goddess of marriage might not seem like much of a threat, when cross, even her husband, the king of the gods, can fear her. Hera can be quite violent and her determination can be set on making things right for herself and does her best to punish those who offend her.========================================
BORNIN:
Greece
LIVING IN:
Mount Olympus, New York
MOTHER:
Rhea -- it's hard to appreciate a mother who lets your father eat you. Hera isn't fond of either of her parents, particularly.
FATHER:
Kronos -- again, hard to respect a father who swallows you, and being stuck in his stomach for so long, Hera is glad to be rid of him. Especially with all of the trouble he caused with the Second Titan War. Hera despises him and doesn't exactly think of him as more than the being that was responsible for her creation.
SIBLINGS:
Zeus -- her brother and husband. She loves and adores him, but she can come very close to hating him with all of his blasted affairs.
Poseidon -- her brother. She doesn't trust him or Hades much, what with their own realms and always having the idea in the back of her head if either will try to claim Zeus's throne and thus overpowering her as well. She is perhaps more fond of him and closer to him than Hades, however.
Hades -- her brother, with the same wariness she feels towards Poseidon. She was never very fond of him and he is probably her least favorite sibling.
Demeter -- her sister who she can find to be a bit annoying at times.
Hestia -- her sister, who is rather easy to forget, though unlike the rest of her siblings, Hera harbors no true ill will whatsoever towards her.
THEKIDS:
Ares -- her son by Zeus, the god of war. She can find him to be exasperating at times, and he certainly doesn't help her temper when it comes to things, though she does love him and have some pride of him.
Hephaestus -- the son she bore on her own and the god of fire. He was hideous when he was born, so she threw him from Mount Olympus. His ugliness did not fit into her picture perfect ideal family, and while she does care somewhat for him, his own resentment of her hasn't helped their relationship.
Enyo -- her daughter by Zeus. She cares for her, though she doesn't have a very big opinion on her.
Hebe -- daughter by Zeus, the goddess of youth. Hera is somewhat fond of her.
Ilithyia -- her daughter by Zeus and the main goddess of childbirth and labor. Hera is not pleased with her daughter for allowing all of Zeus's mistresses to become pregnant. While Hera can control the area to some extent, it is Ilithyia's area of expertise, and Hera cannot hope to interfere, especially once they are pregnant for fear of angering the wrong gods.
Athena -- Hera has many step children, but Athena is her favorite, as she was not born from a mistress of Zeus, but of Zeus alone. While her birth had angered Hera, eventually Hera grew warm to her and considers her like a daughter, sometimes.
IMPORTANTPEEPS:
Jason Grace -- her husband's son who was given to her, to make up and appease her. He will be her champion one day.
OTHERHALF:
Zeus -- her husband and brother, who she loves, despite their issues.
THEPETS:
none
GOODMEMORY:
It's hard to choose just one. She's been alive many years and has many good memories to choose from. The best, though, she would probably have to say was the day she married Zeus. It was in part a celebration of the defeat of the Titans and escaping Kronus's stomach. It was also the start of her life was Zeus's wife, the Queen of Olympus, and the head of the Olympian family.
BADMEMORY:
Again, being alive so long she has managed a great deal of bad memories, but the worst would probably be the first time Zeus was unfaithful. They had had a very good marriage thus far and it was heartbreaking, that first time.
HISTORY:
Ouranos and Gaia, the Sky and Mother Earth, warned their son Kronos that his child would overthrow him. Kronus was the Titan King and he was not about to surrender his power. Each of Rhea's children he fathered, he swallowed shortly after birth. First was a daughter Hestia, followed by son Hades, daughter Demeter, son Poseidon, and daughter Hera. Hera was the youngest daughter of Kronos and Rhea, and the last one actually swallowed. She survived with her siblings in the stomach of Kronos for years, being raised by them as an infant and planning with them and learning from them the older she got.
When the youngest child, a son called Zeus, was born, Rhea hid him away and gave Kronos a rock covered in blankets to swallow instead. While Hera and her siblings survived inside of Kronos for all of their childhood, growing into adulthood within their own father, Zeus was raised far away until he was old enough to rescue his siblings. He tricked his father into swallowing a concoction he had devised with Gaia, that forced him to disgorge his children in reverse order. After the rock, Hera was the first of her siblings to escape Kronos. Hera helped her siblings, along with aid from other immortal beings in defeating the Titans in the First Titan War, the Titanomachy. At their defeat, the Titans were cast away into Tartarus, Kronos cut up with the very scythe he used to cut up his own father, Ouranos. The Titan Atlas received the punishment of being forced to hold up the sky, as it could not hold itself up.
With the defeat of the Titans, Zeus split the world with his brothers: Zeus claiming the sky, Poseidon claiming the sea, and Hades being left with the Underworld. None could claim Gaia, the Earth, and so they shared her. After being given their own realms, Zeus set about seducing his own sister, Hera. He was the youngest of Kronos and Rhea's children, but he was also the most powerful. He was declared King of the gods, and while the power was tempting, it was more than that when she finally agreed to marry him. Hera loved her brother very much and was very pleased with his returned feelings and all he did to court her. The two were married and Hera was declared the Queen of Olympus, the goddess of marriage and families. And the Olympian gods were her family now, and she felt as if she were their mother.
As a wedding gift, their grandmother Gaia gave Hera golden apples of immortality. Hera placed him in her garden to be guarded by the daughters of Atlas, the Hesperides, but as she did not trust them very much, she also had the dragon Ladon guard the tree, as well. The orchard is now called the Garden of Hesperides, though it is still Hera's garden, or so she considers it. For a while, Hera was happy with Zeus and things were good...But over time, Zeus began having affairs. He fathered children of other goddesses as well as mortal women. Hera was furious, as well as heartbroken and envious. She took her vengeance out, not on her husband, but instead his lovers and children, which just as deeply affected him as it did them.
Hera began keeping her eye on Zeus, until he employed Echo to distract her. When Hera realized what he had done, she cursed Echo to only speak words others spoke. After Echo, Hera has kept a closer eye on Zeus and his affairs. She had given Zeus several children on her own, though none were particularly worthy in her eyes. She felt as if her own daughter, Ilithyia, was against her, allowing Zeus's mistresses to become pregnant, and once even held Ilithyia hostage to prevent this from happening until she was made to release her. Hera has gotten her revenge in other ways, doing her best to prevent the birth of illegitimate children, even causing the Earth to shun Leta as she gave birth to the twins Apollo and Artemis. Hera had despised Hercules more than most, and had tried to kill him many times to kill him. During the Gigantomachy, she was kidnapped by Porphyrion after Eros shot him with a golden arrow, making him love the Olympian Queen and starting the war to have Hera and to avenge the Titans. Zeus and Hercules dueled Porphyrion and rescued Hera. Eventually Hercules was poisoned by his wife and upon death was granted godhood. To make up for trying to kill him and thank him for saving her from Porphyrion, Hera gave him her daughter Hebe as a wife and warmed up to him.
Another dispute over children between Zeus and Hera was oddly not over an affair. After Zeus birthed Athena through his split skull, Hera was furious. She got her revenge by bearing Hephaestus without a father, but to her shame and humiliation, Hephaestus was born hideous. Disgusted, Hera threw him from Mount Olympus, forever crippling him. Hera spread the story that Zeus had been the one to throw Hephaestus to make herself more likable, and she figured it was the least her husband owed her for all of his affairs. Despite her story, the truth got out, and while there is still controversy over whether or not it was Zeus or Hera, Hephaestus seems to know it was his mother who had done this to him. He remained bitter towards her and even built her a magical throne that kept her there when she sat it in and did not let her leave. The gods pleaded with Hephaestus to let her go, but he refused. It wasn't until one day Dionysus caused Hephaestus to be drunk and again begged him to free her, but it wasn't until he was given Aphrodite as a wife that he finally freed her.
Of course, Hera wasn't the only god ever trapped. Zeus grew a bit too power hungry, a bit too out of control with things, so Poseidon came close to taking over. They trapped Zeus in a golden net and made him swear upon the River Styx to be a better ruler. Hera helped, which didn't help her marriage with her husband much, but after all he had done to her, it was easy for them to reconcile.
At the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, Eris threw the Apple of Discord, in revenge for not being invited, with the inscription for the fairest. All of the goddess fought over the Apple, but it was narrowed down to the three most beautiful: Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite. The decision fell to Zeus, though not wanting problems he left the decision to a mortal prince Paris. Hera offered him kingship for being chosen, Athena offered eternal wisdom, and Aphrodite offered the love of the most beautiful mortal woman, Helen. Paris chose Aphrodite and in revenge, Hera and Athena teamed up to support the Greeks in the Trojan War. Zeus had forbidden interference, but Hera seduced him as a means of distraction while others were left to incite the Greeks into attacking the Trojans.
Hera has always had trouble being fond of mortals, especially demigods, but one mortal who gained her favor was Jason. When Jason helped her while she was in disguise, she grew to favor him and convinced Aphrodite to make Medea love Jason, so that she could help him steal the Golden Fleece. When Jason left Medea to marry a princess, the gods tuned their backs on him and he lost even the favor of Hera, though he still remains to be one of her favorites.
Of course there have been many times over the years where heroes were favored among gods and gods fought amongst themselves. Nothing in her life, though, distracted her from Zeus and his affairs. Oddly, despite his own infidelity, Zeus was insanely jealous and cursed and killed any man who desired her and tried to seduce her, something that perhaps might be hypocritical, but to Hera it is pleasing to have her husband fight for her, the only thing that appeases her mind and heart in the midst of his countless affairs. Finally, though, things seemed to be promising with the end of World War II. Heroes of the Big Three were always more powerful than any other, and when children of Hades were pitted against children of Zeus and Poseidon, the results were terrible. Zeus and Poseidon made Hades agree to an oath among the three of them to never have demigod children again, to avoid this sort of conflict. Hera was more than pleased by this, sure this would mean a stop to most of her husband's affairs. But still he cheated, falling off of the wagon for some big haired actress named Ms. Grace. Zeus had a daughter called Thalia Grace and Hera instantly hated them all for it more infuriated than ever by her husband breaking the oath he himself had devised. And as if that wasn't enough, he came to Ms. Grace a second time as his Roman counterpart Jupiter and fathered another child, Jason Grace. Hera was furious, but Zeus named him Jason at Hera's will and convinced Ms. Grace to give Hera Jason as a means of settling his wife down. Hera was pleased and when Ms. Grace left Jason to her, Hera left him with the wolf Lupa to be raised, to eventually become her champion.
Things seemed better to Queen Hera over the years, when Thalia ran away from home and was killed. Zeus turned her into a tree to spare her, but it is still preferable to Hera over the girl being alive. She was also pleased when Ms. Grace died in an automobile accident, and was somewhat angered when Thalia came to life out of her tree. Hera retains hatred for the child. Still, she and Zeus have been into marriage counselling and things have been better than usual for a while. After Thalia's return and becoming a Huntress of Artemis, she came to Percy and Annabeth and Grover in the Labyrinth to chase off Janus and offered the demigods food and some small aid. When Annabeth insulted her, though, Hera claimed she would be sorry and cursed her to be followed by her sacred animals, especially the cow, during the year.
In the second Titan War, Hera joins the other gods to defeat Typhon and when the heroes are on Olympus she congratulates them and even makes Ares thank them. She isn't overly fond of demigods, but she is grateful to them for saving her home, her kingdom, and her family.========================================
