Zach comes off, normally, as a very nice person, which makes people often wonder why he's friends with people like Gabe and Liz. He enjoys their honesty and finds it refreshing and feels he can really be himself around them and be truthful with them. This isn't the case with everyone else, though. Zach wants everyone to like him, which can lead to him acting and pretending to be different things for different people, but when it all comes down to it, the opinions that matter the most are his friends and if it came to a situation involving a lot of people, he would act the way that would be viewed kindly by his friends instead of everyone else. He does what he enjoys in life, though, without caring what anyone thinks or even how good or bad he is at it. He's rather easy to get along with, mainly because he's such a people pleaser.

HISTORY:
Zach was born the middle child to Amber and Scott Monteith. His brother Andrew was already twelve the time he was born. Amber and Scott had only wanted one child, but as Andrew started getting older, they grew sad and sentimental and wanted another young child. Zach was doted on by adoring parents and a pleased brother who was able to do more and get away more with their parents focused on him. His was a relatively normal childhood in Boston, play wrestling with his dad and brother, the only major cause of concern was when Andrew and Zach broke the TV fighting and tried pinning the blame on one another.

Andrew went to college, so he stayed behind when the family picked up and moved when Zach was eight. Scott got a new, better job in New York City. There Zach started playing football, and despite being bad at it he still played. In junior high he got his first girlfriend, Tia, the first of a long string of temporary girlfriends. Zach was cute and it was easy to attract the ladies. He also made very good friends in Gabe and her group around that time. In high school he made the football team (lucky the team already sucked, so Zach didn't seem so bad) and it wasn't until recently that things have gotten bad. Freshman year his mom had another baby, Lakyn, and he was expected to babysit often and his parents often ride him about getting a job he doesn't want and applying for colleges that he doesn't want to go to.

The best and worst was meeting Bella Rose, the epitome of what his friends disliked in a girl and somehow she captured his heart. It's caused a bit of a rift between him and his friends, but he and Bella have made it to a year without too much happening.
