ABOUTME:
Poseidon is, in many ways, more mature and developed than both of his Brother’s. With Zeus, he shares his typical stubborn proudness and tempermental nature, but he has grown to overcome it ever so slightly through the years, becoming a much more reasonable and calm God, caring for his children, as shown perfectly in the way he treats and favors Percy Jackson and Tyson. He is a very talented ruler though, creating a clear hierarchy within his underwater kingdom, and maintaining complete and utter control over his realm, of which he is incredibly protective, a trait that also spreads to his children, or more so to the two favored ones. Poseidon also possesses a sense of humour that sometimes hints towards sarcasm, however it is a very unique, personal sense of humour that sometimes others do not appreciate or even realise. He is a very proud God, almost too proud, and he himself feels insulted if one was to insult the sea, which does not happen very often, however his pride has begun in the centuries to run in a more successful, productive way, where it has progressed into a higher level of feeling protective over his possessions.========================================

GOODMEMORY: Poseidon’s best memory to date must be the second defeat of Typhon and his brother, Zeus’, reaction. If it was not for he, Typhone might just have defeated the other Gods, they were losing, and quite clearly, but Poseidon rose from his own realm, sacrificing everything he often stood for, and with his aid the Olympians defeated Typhon. It was when Zeus offered his thanks to Poseidon that rendered this his best memory, for he felt finally at what he considered to be his rightful place, above his brother, he knew different as Zeus still held the Throne of Olympus, but he felt good that he had gotten one over Zeus.
BADMEMORY: More or less the same as his best memory, it was the moment he felt like he was losing to the Titan God of the Sea, Oceanus. His palace was getting destroyed, majorly, and he was losing soldiers all over the place. For once in his entire immortal life he felt as if he might be losing, and that was a memory he would rather never relive, never in his life.
HISTORY:
As a child, Kronos was anything but well-behaved, he was savage and misguided, and because of this his own Father had cursed him, and because of the way he behaved as a child, he did not trust his own children, and because of this, upon birth, he swallowed them one by one, until it came the chance to swallow his last child, Zeus. However Rhea, the Mother, wanted nothing more than her children to be freed, and she was horrified that Kronos was consuming them, and so when Kronos asked for the last child, she instead handed him a stone, wrapped in clothes, and Kronos ate it, believing it to be his child. Finally Zeus forced Kronos to regurgitate his siblings and upon rebirth, Poseidon joined forces with Zeus and his siblings in the battle against Kronos and the rest of the Titans. They defeated the Titans, with the aid of three major weapons, Zeus was given the master bolt, Poseidon the Trident, and Hades the Helm of Darkness, all gifts from the Cyclopes, who also assisted on the side of the Olympians.
After the succession of the first Titan and Olympian war, the three brothers, the ‘Big Three’, drew lots for which realms they would rule, the heavens, the oceans and the underworld. Zeus, being the oldest brother, chose first, and picked out the sky, Poseidon being the next eldest, drew the seas, and Hades was left with the Underworld. Poseidon was most happy with his lot, he was only jealous of Zeus’ status and throne upon Mount Olympus. He built a palace in the Ocean, where he would reside for the majority of his immortal life, and married one of the daughters of Oceanus, the former ruler, and Titan, of the ocean. Together they ruled the ocean, and bore a son, named Triton. Over many years Poseidon gave birth to many heroes of history.
It was clear, in the appearance of many demigods, that Poseidon was not a stranger to sleeping with women other than his wife, and it was apparent that he became quite the charmer. In one case, he wooed the virgin maiden and priestess of Athena, named Medusa. On one of their dates, they made love in one of Athena’s Virgin Temples, an act that Athena herself caught, and became outraged at. Distraught, Athena turned Medusa and her three sisters into the three Gorgons. Poseidon grew a serious distaste for Athena, and the competition the two held for Patron God of Athens did not make that him feel any better towards her. The two of them offered the people of Athens a gift each, Poseidon a saltwater spring, and Athena an Olive tree. The people of Athens took into deep consideration of the advantages and disadvantages of these offers, and together decided Athena’s gift was better for them, this only fuelled Poseidon’s hatred for her, and made it much more serious.
Centuries passed, many of them, and eventually a second World War erupted across Earth, the Gods lived their life as normal, ruling over their realms, sleeping with mortal women, and arguing with eachother over insignificant things. One day, however, things changed for the Big Three, an Oracle came forth and told a Prophecy that predicted a child of the big three to decide the fate of the Olympians when they reached the age of sixteen. Together, Hades, Poseidon and Zeus swore upon the river styx to never bear any demigod children again, but not one would keep their word, something all Gods could never do. Upon one of his ventures onto the Earth plane, Poseidon happened across a lovely, energetic and youthfully beautiful woman named Sally Jackson, and she held an spark of life that Poseidon fell for. The two fell genuinely in love together, and Sally ended up conceiving a child who was named Perseus, or more commonly named Percy. Upon realisation that he had thus put Sally and his new son’s life in prime danger for breaking his oath on the river styx, he left them, encouraging Sally to send Percy straight to Camp Half Blood as soon as he was old enough.
Poseidon bided his time, and awaited until Percy was safe within the borders of camp half blood, (or so it seemed, for when in there he was attacked by a Hellhound during a game of capture the flag,) to claim him, causing major commotion to erupt between the Gods of Olympus. The problems only became larger when Zeus discovered his Master Lightning Bolt to be missing. He immediately blames this on Poseidon, accusing him of using his demigod son to steal the bolt form him, and demands that he has it returned by the Summer Solstice, Poseidon, confident that his son did not steal the bolt, demanded an apolgy to be delivered to him on that day.
A quest is then served to Percy Jackson, a quest to find the Master Bolt, which he did, and Poseidon, finally, got to meet his son in the flesh since he had last seen him as a mere baby, nowhere near old enough to form memories that would last. Poseidon continues to break the rules, more so revolving around Percy, who he was becoming more and more able to like, very much so infact. He sent his son Tyson, a Cyclops of small size, to befriend his brother Percy at the same school, and also sends Hippocampi to Percy and his friends when they are in need of transport, but are unable to actually find any. Poseidon continues to subtly help and assist in Percy’s life, even though the rules of the Gods prohibited such contact and assistance.
He only next got to see Percy at a part upon Mount Olympus, where he chats casually to him about Luke, and the Prophecy about him. He then saw him again when he himself went down to Earth and reunited with the very Mother of Percy Jackson, Sally. Poseidon informs Percy of the war that had erupted in his sea kingdom, and of the oncoming force of disasters, and admits in person to Percy that he has become his favourite son, by far. When he left then, he left for the last time before the next Titan War. Poseidon was far too occupied to pay much attention to Percy from then on, he was focused entirely on his Palace, on his realm of the ocean, which was under serious attack from Oceanus and his army.
The fight was hard, very hard, it became so difficult infact, and wore Poseidon down, that it affected him physically, altering his appearance. His hair and beard greyed and he looked aged and weak. And during the fight, Poseidon felt a sudden intrusion of his privacy, of his property, when someone other than himself sat upon his throne at Olympus. He almost struck down whoever it was immediately, but thankfully he looked first, and found out his son, Percy, was sat upon the seat. Percy convinced Poseidon that his place was not protecting his Ocean Palace, but his true home, Mount Olympus. The timing was perfect, just as Typhon, the Titan who seemed so unstoppable, so invincible, stepped foot into the Hudson River. The call of Poseidon emanated from the river, and from it emerged in his better, stronger form, Poseidon, with his army of Cylopes and the Hundred Handed One. With his aid, Typhon was brought down, and still to this day Poseidon feels pride beyond belief, so proud infact that he mocks Zeus when he thanks him, asking him to repeat himself, and then correcting him when saying that it would have been ‘impossible’ without him, rather than ‘difficult’ .
Pride washed through him more powerfully though because of his son, Percy had proved himself, he had saved Olympus, and Poseidon felt he was a true son of the ocean. The Sea God got back to ruins, and began the reformation of his underwater Palace. When the boom in demigod children erupted, Poseidon did not know who to blame, he had his suspicions, some most definitely stronger than others, but he did not act upon them as of yet.========================================
