On his birth his hair was a dark blond, though it has steadily darkened, but still looks like a dark blond color sometimes, though he often tries to keep it black. His hair is often oily and kept cut short and out of the way.
MYEYES:
To mortals they appear a deep black, but to those who don't have to see the Mist can tell that they look like hollow sockets with flames in place.
MYFACE:
He has a strong, yet beautiful face, marred by a few scars. He sometimes grows a light bit of facial hair, but for the most part keeps himself cleanly shaven.

ABOUTME:
Ares is a skilled warrior, his specialties lying in war and battles. He loves violence and stirring up problems. He enjoys watching family members pitted against each other, even (and especially) if its his own family. He is very proud and arrogant, making him often underestimate his opponents. He has quite the temper and can be set off easily about anything. While he is brilliant when it comes to fighting, he is so caught up in the physical aspect of it he easily forgets and disrespects the power of the mental aspects of things. He's not dumb, it's just hard to consider anything but violence when he is angry.

HISTORY:
Ares's birth was not particularly enjoyed by his own father, Zeus. The two failed to bond and Zeus barely tolerated the boy. Ares was, of course, a tad bit displeased with the lack of attention or affection from his father. Hera cared for him a bit, but it didn't seem like much of anyone cared when Ares was abducted by two playmates, the giant Aloadai twins. They imprisoned him in a bronze jar and he remained in captivity, losing his mind. There he remained until the twins' step mother found out what they had done and alerted Hermes who was able to release him.

After the incident Hera thought Ares would be better off elsewhere and placed him with a minor diety Priapus who trained Ares in dance and the martial arts. Ares was even more infuriated being made to leave home, after being stuck in a jar for what felt like forever. He trained well, but in the begining didn't fare well in battles, especially against his sister, goddess of wisdom and war, his archenemy Athena. She was favored by her parents and everyone else while Ares remained unpopular. They were in Greece at the time and everyone viewed his fighting strategies as too passionate, too wild. And the Greeks were often at war with one another, where allegiances were so confused it was hard to know who to side with go gain favor anywhere. Luckily, Ares found that his Roman counterpart, Mars, fared much better and was the favorite of the Roman gods. So for a while he spent much of his time as Mars with the Romans, tired of the disrespect of the Greek world and their lack of appreciation of the true art of war. He was worshiped more than even Jupiter (Zeus) in Rome and so it was automatically his favorite place.

Be he Mars or Ares, he began sleeping with mortal women, producing some of the first demigod children after Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades began. He encouraged the world's first war, and every war since. He took pleasure in other people's pain and loved pitting people against one another, especially family against family with his own family issues. He was power hungry, cruel, violent, temperamental, and many things that made people hate him, which he enjoyed nearly as much as it infuriated him. With his own enjoyment of family disputes, he took great pleasure in sleeping with his own brother's (Hephaestus's) wife Aphrodite. She was beautiful, something Ares could be proud of, but Hephaestus was a jealous and angry husband. For a while things carried on naturally and easily. Ares and Aphrodite produced many children together and carried on a very passionate affair, but eventually things grew difficult. Out of his anger and envy and pain, Hephaestus began outing Ares and Aphrodite. He caught them in a golden net once and invited all of the gods to come and watch and laugh at their expense.

Afterwords, Ares and Aphrodite began meeting in private, setting up dates in secret hoping to avoid Hephaestus. His plans became more and more creative, always aiming to out the couple and humiliate them. Ares and Aphrodite become more clever over time, but Hephaestus is never too far behind them. Between starting wars and conflicts and trying to hide his affair with Aphrodite, Ares's life has been rather eventful and busy, though usually out of the same routine with very little new to brag about. The main point of concern for Ares was the late twentieth century when his own daughter, his youngest child with Aphrodite, Danica, beat him in a fighting match. He claimed she had cheated, planting very attractive women nearby to distract him, though that had not been the case. Danna was too proud and stubborn to win by cheating and Ares would never be so distracted in a fight. Danna won fair and square, but Ares refused to see it that way and refused to let it be known. He banished Danna to Earth for about a decade until any rumors of such an event disappeared and he invited her back to Mount Olympus.

In all honesty, Ares was impressed by Danna...Just as he was threatened by her. He has made it a point to beat her every time, though he remains impressed by her and does somewhat respect her. She is his favorite child, though no one, especially not her, knows that. She is more like him than anyone else which he enjoys...so long as it isn't used against him.
