BADMEMORY: When Luke was nine years old, his mother developed lung cancer. She was already under the stress of being a single mother, and she didn't have time to rest and properly take care of herself while trying to take care of a house and a son. She died two years later.
HISTORY: Luke's mother was relatively young when she became pregnant with him - only eighteen. His father was more interested in living it up while he was young than in taking care of his pregnant girlfriend, and eventually, his son. He left Sandra when she was six months along in the pregnancy.
Lucas never learned his father's name, but blamed him for the hardships that befell him and his mother. He thought that if his father were still here, then perhaps his mother wouldn't have to work so hard, and she wouldn't have gotten sick. Sandra was a strong, Catholic woman, though, and tried her best to raise Luke in the same way. She encouraged him to forgive his father and to give their situation to the Lord, and Luke did his best to make her happy.
Sandra was diagnosed with lung cancer when Luke was nine years old. The two of them, along with Sandra's parents, prayed hard for her healing, but it was no use. Sandra's body couldn't handle both the cancer, and the stress of being a single mom. She died just after Luke's eleventh birthday. For Luke, it was only proof that neither the God his mother had so dutifully served, nor any other god, existed.
Luke's grandparents took him in after that, and tried their best to raise him as Sandra had - Catholic. The tried to convince him that God had taken Sandra to heaven, and that she had died for a reason, but Luke wouldn't have it. He grew up as an honorable, but atheistic man.========================================
