- We'll start off with the rule people tend to overlook sometimes: THE MINIMUM POST COUNT IS 250 WORDS. It's not hard to do and it makes role playing an easier and more enjoyable experience for everyone. If you can't post 250 words, this should help you think more about your character and discover more of who they are. Besides what they say and do, what are they wearing? What are they thinking? What are they feeling? I promise, once you push yourself a few times, it's not that hard to hit 250. You might even soar past that.
--We are aware that there are times that the minimum post count can become tricky. If you are planning a party thread and you are expecting at least seven different characters to show up, you may PM a staff member to have the post count lowered for that thread. We do talk to one another, so claiming someone said it was okay without them actually agreeing will be easy to figure out.- No posting anything until your application has been accepted. Do not post claims for an unaccepted character, even on another account. The staff is not stupid. You will be caught. Do not post threads until your character has been accepted.
- Post applications and claims in their proper place and forms. We are the staff, we take care of the site, but we are not here to baby you.
- DO NOT BUG ADMINS ABOUT ACCEPTING YOUR APPLICATION OF ANY KIND. Be it character application or anything on claims or baby apps or anything. Even casually mentioning "oh I finished my character" or "does anyone wanna see my app?" or any of that is considered as "bugging". We get the hint: you have an app. We are usually pretty good about getting to these in decent timing. Bugging us about it only ensures you a longer delay.
- When it comes to making characters, keep this in mind: we have a girl-boy ratio. For every four girl characters you have, the fifth MUST be a boy. If you have 20 characters, at least 4 male characters. This is not an unreasonable amount. This is for all those female characters whining that they don't have a man. Unless the site wants to go lesbian or bisexual, we need some men.
- The FC Stealing Rule: if an actor or actress is claimed on the face claim list, you cannot have it. If you put it in your application but did not claim it, it is up for grabs. If you do not follow the proper instructions on the Face Claim list, your claim will not be added and if someone comes along who does follow the rule, they may take it. You may "steal" another person's face claim if they have not logged in in two weeks and if they have not posted in a month. If they posted in the "missing board" they are safe. If they give no specific time they will be back, the claim is open again after three months. If they give an unreasonable amount of time for being gone and someone else wants the claim, well sorry, but we have to be fair. Active people get the face claims they want.
- If you have multiple accounts, logging in every day is a good idea. This is so that we look active and that if you have a face claim you like, it won't be stolen so easily.
- Godmoding and powerplay is a big no no. In some situations this is hard, I know, but get the other person's permission before you do something like that. But if your character is hitting another character, do not say Fred hit Stacy say instead Fred attempted to hit Stacy. This gives the other person a chance to duck. On another note, no powerplaying. I don't care who you are, you are not invincible. If your in a fight, you WILL GET HIT. Miss a few, take a few. Be fair. If your character thinks they are indestructible. Fine. I well know my Danna is. But they aren't and you need to fight fair, ladies and gentlemen.
- Do not kill off another person's character without their permission. Once a character has been role-played dying, there is no bringing them back. If you insinuate that they died and wanna bring them back, then fine. But if Todd burned Cody to his death. All that was left was a pile of ashes. There is no coming back. So be careful.
- Be respectful towards one another. No real fighting (between RPers) on the site or in the c box. You will be warned and if it happens multiple times you will be banned. If you have issues with someone, do it through PM and be nice about it. If you want respect, you better show it.
- DO NOT MENTION OTHER SITES ON CHAINS OF OLYMPUS. Do not bad mouth another site, by name, in the c box or on the site. We don't want people badmouthing COO on their site, so it will not be tolerated here. Do not go onto another site and start causing trouble in the name of COO. It will not be tolerated. Do not advertise another site on COO unless done through advertising and affiliates. If you mention another site anywhere else, be it c box or on site, it will not be tolerated. Even if you aren't saying JOIN MY SITE just mentioning the name will raise interest and just the mention of a name is advertising. So if you have a site, do not talk about it on my site, as I find it to be very disrespectful to be blatantly advertising your site on mine. Just mentioning another site by name for any reason period outside of the Ads and Affiliates board will not be tolerated.
