ABOUTME:
Kevin is severely anti social. It's not a fear of people, so much as the fear of getting close to them and the fear of people thinking he's crazy. Most importantly, it's his fear of monsters. He can see through the Mist and he's seen a lot in his life, so he likes to stay by himself all alone and away from society and the horrible things out there. He is extremely bitter with how his life has played out because of his ability and is lonely, though he knows that being alone is better for everyone involved. He is extremely loyal to and protective of the people he cares about.

GOODMEMORY:
His best memory was the day Bailey agreed to go out with him. Life finally seemed normal and he was finally dating the girl he had been in love with for years.
BADMEMORY:
His worst memory was the day his son Mason was born. Bailey let him see their son, but told him she didn't want Kevin around because of his "problems."
HISTORY:
As only children themselves, Holly and Jason were eager to start a family and eager to have a big family. When they had Kevin, however, they agreed not to have any more children into they were more financially stable. Kevin grew up in an apartment complex with his parents, and he loved being the only child. For ten years he was an only child and he loved it. He wasn't spoiled in material things, but he had all the attention he wanted. He excelled in school and tried out different sports such as football, baseball, and soccer in his young life and had even fiddled around with karate for a little while. To him, his life was perfect and he didn't want anything to change.

So when he was ten and his mother gave him a little sister, Kayla, Kevin was not happy. He hated Kayla. She got all sorts of attention and while they didn't ignore Kevin, he certainly felt ignored. For two years he sucked up to his parents, but never showed much affection for baby Kayla. Things changed for the even worse when Kayla was two and Kevin was twelve. Holly had another baby girl named Kenzi. For a while, Kevin got along better with Kayla, now that she knew what it was like, but as she got used to it all and accepted Kenzi, Kevin was a bit more bitter towards her again. He bullied his sisters like any good brother, but eventually grew out of being as jealous as he had been. He picked on Kayla and Kenzi, but took care of them when they needed it.

Another few years later, Holly had another girl named Khloe. The family just kept getting bigger and bigger and Kevin just got used to it, even though he was hardly pleased by it. When he was sixteen, though, things went very wrong. Six year old Kayla was kidnapped in the middle of the night, leaving the Crooks family confused and distraught. They searched hard for Kayla and it even put a strain on Holly and Jason's marriage for a while, but they kept themselves together for their family that they did their best to mend. Kevin's grades dropped a bit after Kayla's disappearance, but he made average grades and managed to pass school. It was more than just Kayla being gone, though. That very year, Kevin started to see things. Now, he realizes he had been able to see strange things his whole life, but it wasn't until he saw the monster his teacher truly was that he noticed just how wrong things were. The new math teacher, Mr. Hinger, was a creature so foul Kevin could hardly understand. He did know that he saw that teacher devour a fellow student, a freshman named Janie Frasier.

Kevin told police what he saw and his parents even more the more he began to see. The start of his senior year he was placed in a mental hospital and the doctors chalked up the hallucinations to Kayla's disappearance. Kevin wasn't so sure that was it, but was eager to be let go. He started his senior year at the age of eighteen. People talked and it embarrassed Kevin. Even when he saw bad people and bad things happening, he said nothing about it because no one would believe him. The once popular guy was the laughing stock of the school and Kevin pulled away from everyone, including his family. He was eager to graduate and moved to Jackson, Mississippi to attend college. He majored in engineering and technology. At a party his roommate threw he met a girl named Bailey Ford and Kevin was smitten with her. They got along well enough, but she had just started dating this guy named Johnny. Kevin and Bailey remained close friends throughout college, but she was Kevin's only friend.

After four years, Kevin and Bailey graduated and that summer she broke up with Johnny and agreed to go out with Kevin. The year and a half they had together was amazing, but it went downhill when Bailey became pregnant. Neither was ready, but determined to stick together. When Bailey was only four months along, Kevin saw a horrible beast coming towards them. Kevin to this day does not know what Bailey saw, but Kevin ran after him. He wasn't really so brave, but he couldn't let anything happen to Bailey or his child. Sadly, Bailey broke up with him and called him crazy and refused to see him or contact him for the remainder of her pregnancy. She allowed Kevin to meet his son, but that was it. She was scared and did not want Kevin in her or Mason's life and Kevin sadly agreed.

He was depressed for a while and hated Bailey for leaving him and for taking his son. He kept close tabs on them both, though, and listened to gossip around town to keep track of them. As Mason grew older, Kevin sneaked into sports games and school productions his son was in, and did his best to hide from Bailey and never, ever contacted Mason. Kevin pulled away from everyone even more, only seeing his family once or twice a year, despite living so close to them.

Recently, his missing sisters Kayla and Kenzi showed back up and things were great, but not long after Kayla disappeared again, and then Kenzi, and then Khloe. It all seemed so weird to Kevin who suspects foul play among the horrible monsters he's seen and while his family continues their more rational and legal search for his sisters, Kevin has taken it upon himself to use his gift to try to find them.
