ABOUTME:
Zander is a very smart and persuasive guy who would have made a very good politician or writer or even worked in advertising, if he was in the regular, mortal world. His life once held a lot of promise before he was transformed into a lycanthrope, and remains very bitter at the loss of the life he had and the emptiness in the life he currently leads. He can be very proud and stubborn when he wants to be, but he is fiercely loyal and is never too proud to obey someone he truly respects and cares for. He is normally in a rather rotten mood and is always scheming of ways to break free from Lycaon and try to rebuild a better life for himself, but is too scared of the consequences and finds himself still too attached to his leader to do so.========================================

Lycaon: the pack alpha who he respects and is loyal to, but at the same time he dislikes the man and wishes to leave him.
OTHERHALF:
Eugenia Hooper: she was Zander's fiancée before he was transformed. He still cares about her, but was very upset and angered when he learned she had married another man, always secretly hoping she would never find love again. A foolish thought, but he was very possessive and cared so deeply for her, it hurts to think she had forgotten about him and had come to love another man when he was still so deeply in love with her.
THEPETS:
none
GOODMEMORY:
His best memory was the day he proposed to Eugenia and she agreed to marry him. His life looked very promising.
BADMEMORY:
The worst day was being turned into a lycanthrope and being forced to leave his life behind, the life he loved and had worked so hard on.
HISTORY:
Garland Rhodes was a very wealthy, very influential man who led a very lonely life. His entire family had died when their old home burned down, and Garland had been left with their fortune and no one in his life. He had people after him for money, but they were greedy bastards and Garland always knew what it was they wanted and remained feeling very depressed and displeased with life. It was on the anniversary of his family's death that things changed. He went to a flower shop to get flowers to take to their graves when he met a florist named Florence Lacaze. Unlike most people, she had no idea who he was and had recently moved to the city from a small town in Texas. She was a sweet Southern girl getting used to the big city and being up North. Garland forgot all about his previous obligations for the day, taking the flowers to his family's graves and returning right after to the flower shop to talk to Florence.
Every day he went to the flower shop to meet her. The following week he asked her to lunch every day. The week after that, he finally asked her on a more formal date, to dinner. Florence was amazed by the resturaunt Garland took her to and complained about feeling under-dressed and feeling very embarrassed. Garland tried to reassure her, but Florence hadn't known about Garland's money and felt very foolish and ugly dressed in a cheap little dress and jacket. To Garland she was perfect, but Florence was too insecure to fully enjoy her night. Florence was very gracious by the end of the date, but Garland felt horrible and focused on his work for the next few weeks. He was absolutely smitten with Florence, though, and finally returned to the flower shop to apologize and asked her out to dinner again, promising someplace more casual, to which Florence happily agreed.
The two dated for a little over two years. Garland was patient and happy with Florence and she steadily allowed herself to be drawn into his world of nice things. She brightened up his life with her optimism and her bright wardrobe and her happy smiles. She was the most happy and kind woman Garland had ever known, and that made him happy. After two years he proved it by proposing to her while she was at work. The ring was rather expensive and very gaudy with its brilliant and colorful stones designed into a flower shape. It was a bit much, but it wasn't the size or the price tag Florence loved...She loved flowers and bright colors and was in tears as she agreed to marry him. The two planned a very warm and colorful wedding that next year. Florence wore a white dress, accessories in bright colors to bring in a bit of flair. The wedding party all wore bright colors and everything was a very happy occasion. Florence brought so much warmth and happiness into his life it was unreal. She was the most pure and beautiful creature he had ever known, and Garland felt like the luckiest man in the world.
Two years after marriage, Florence became pregnant and gave Garland a son, a child they named Alexander Vincent Rhodes. Florence was a happy mother, doting on Alexander all of the time and always bringing him with her to work. Alexander was a child spoiled in love and affection, though Florence made sure that she and Garland didn't spoil him in material things. Alexander was just fine with that and more than loved both of his parents. His childhood was a somewhat normal one, considering he was from a wealthy family. He didn't ever get much more than normal children got, but his life was perhaps a bit happier than most. Garland and Florence were deeply in love and shared a deep love of their son.
When Alexander was three, Garland and Florence expanded the family with another son named Nicholas Phillip Rhodes. Alexander was pleased to have a brother and a playmate, though he was a bit discouraged that he couldn't play as he liked with Nicholas to begin with, since he was just a baby, but Nicholas eventually grew into a proper playmate. Just two years later, Florence gave birth to a son named Christopher Michael Rhodes, and the family seemed far too perfect and far too blessed. And like all good things, it had to come to an end. When Christopher was only a year old, Florence went to town for groceries and never came home. Garland was up all night with worry and in the morning came dreadful news. Garland was asked to identify the body of his wife in the morgue. She had been mugged and raped in an alley and had stumbled into the road when she had tried to hail a taxi to get help and ended up being hit by a car and died. She had been carrying an unborn child that Garland had never known about, and he figured Florence hadn't known either. A baby girl. Garland and his sons were devastated by the death of Florence, who had seemed to them the personification of happiness and hope and without her, their manor was an empty and cold shell.
For a time, Garland was suicidal and had nearly jumped from a window on the top story of their house, but was caught by Alexander. Alexander had already been deeply disturbed by the tragedy of his mother and was even more horrified by the actions of his father. Garland sobbed and apologized to Alexander and promised to be a better father. He turned to alcohol and was never in as good of a mood as he was when Florence was still alive. Despite his depression, though, he remained strong and did his best by his sons and Alexander was proud of him. Garland never moved on, though, never would let himself want another woman. It was something Alexander, Nicholas, and Christopher were grateful for. They didn't want anyone else replacing their mother, as if anyone could hope to.
Alexander went on with life, but like his father felt as though something were missing. Something was always missing and their lives remained dull and dreary. Alexander excelled academically and did well socially, though he never really had any true friends. He was an honorable and brilliant man with a bright future ahead of him. In his senior year of high school he met a young woman named Eugenia Ferrier and in their sophomore year of college, Alexander proposed to her. The two were very deeply in love, and nothing made him happier then when Eugenia agreed to marry him. Life was looking up, finally, for Alexander Rhodes. But it all soon came crashing down. He agreed to go hunting one day with Eugenia's family and in the early morning Alexander was tired. He spaced out a great deal and took a bit of teasing from Eugenia's father and uncles and cousins and brothers. Still, while everyone else was busy looking for deer, Alexander dozed off near a tree and was attacked, dragged off by a wolf. He was turned into a lycanthrope that day by the wolf king, Lycaon.
He was told he could never return to his family. He'd be a danger to them all. Alexander was devastated and angry. Lycaon took him under his wing, though, and taught him much. He befriended a fellow lycanthrope, Garvin Grey, who had an equally sad and disturbing story. He survived and went on with life, but always thought of his father and brothers and his beloved. After several years, the pack came upon a small town where Alexander saw Eugenia again. Asking around town about her, though, brought terrible news. Eugenia had married a man named Terrance Hooper and they were expecting a child together. Zander had never been more upset and angry in his life. He had seen his father mourn forever over his mother, never wanting the love of another woman, but his beloved Eugenia had moved on, thinking he had died. If she had truly loved him, she would have never moved on and forever mourn him and love him. It was all Zander knew of love. Despite advice not to do so, Zander continued stalking Eugenia and Terrance and finding out more about her and their lives. He discovered Eugenia had had a son by him, a boy called Andrew. A fine boy, people said, something that made him proud and very bitter. He wanted to know his son, but that would never happen. The more he heard about the Hooper family, the angrier he got. The night before Lycaon was expected to move his pack, Zander sneaked into town and killed Terrance Hooper in his sleep, pulling his body apart and leaving the mess for Eugenia to wake up to. He still loved her, but he had to punish her for breaking his heart.
He never knew what became of Andrew or Eugenia, as the pack moved again. Only a year later the Hunters of Artemis attacked and Zander lost his good friend, Garvin Grey, in it all. Zander grew more angry and more bitter over time. He enjoyed killing more than he used to, the only way to deal with the pain and misery that felt like a constant part of his life. He's followed Lycaon for years now, feeling so trapped in this life and so very alone. He finally gathered the courage to escape, but ran into an attractive young woman in the forest, but was driven by his hunger to kill her. However, another lycanthrope stopped him, one he didn't recognize. The woman he had attacked spoke in Latin, saying there were more of them, so Zander fled. He returned to Lycaon before anyone knew he was gone. He was surprised to learn of other lycanthropes and hoped that maybe they were some of his lost friends, including Garvin Grey. Zander hasn't said anything to Lycaon about them yet.========================================
