MYEYES:
Her eyes are a very startling green. They appear to be very pale, but a very bright pea green shade. Sometimes they appear lighter or darker shade-wise, but they always remain very bright and striking.
MYFACE:
She has a beautiful face with a bit of a long, more narrow jaw and somewhat high cheekbones. She has a full bottom lip while her upper lip normally seems a bit on the thin side, though she does her best to make it look more natural with make up. Her nose is a little on the thin side.
MYBODY:
She has a very amazing body, as well, with a rather curvaceous figure. Her breasts and butt are both a bit on the big side, and very firm and shapely. She has very strong legs from walking and running so much. She has a flat stomach and isn't very muscular from what you can see. Her body looks very soft, without appearing overweight or anything like that.
SPECIAL:
Kayla has two tattoos. One is on the back of her right shoulder, a black and white dandelion tattoo with a few pieces blown off and already floating around. It symbolizes all of the wishes she ever made and all of the dreams she ever had, blowing on dandelions and making wishes. And how sticking by all of her wishes and her dreams, no matter how hard life got, they ended up coming true...At least they recently have slowly starting coming true.

The second tattoo is a pelvic tattoo, a black and white bird on the left side of her body. The bird symbolizes the flight for freedom and finally escaping Brianne Echolls and living in this newfound freedom and independence. Both tattoos hold deep meaning to her, though they are also just as beautiful pictures that no one need know all of the reasons behind.

On the one hand, Kayla can be a very fun and friendly person. She likes to enjoy herself and is very outgoing. She loves meeting new people and attempting to make friends, if someone captures her interest. She doesn't put up with bullshit or drama from anyone (unless it's Derek--she can't really help herself around him). She can be easy enough to get along with, but she tends to be pretty temperamental about some things and it's not very hard to set her off. She's very bad about procrastinating and often doesn't make time to do things she doesn't want to do, even if she needs to do them, and it takes a lot of pushing to get her to do them.

Sometimes she wonders what she ever saw in him at all, but the few times they've broken up have been the worst moments of her life and she knows she can't go on without him, no matter how much she likes to think she can.

GOODMEMORY:
Her best memory, whether or not she will admit it, was meeting Derek. Perhaps the meeting itself wasn't too great...She was being attacked by a Cyclopes at the time...But looking back on it, Derek is the best thing that's ever happened to her and meeting him was the best thing that could have happened to her life.
BADMEMORY:
Her worst memory was being kidnapped by Brianne. She had been so scared and nothing (not even nearly being killed by a Cyclopes) was so frightening or damaging as that.
HISTORY:
Jason and Holly had both been their parents' only children and agreed on one very important thing when they got married: that they wanted a big family. It didn't take long after their wedding for Holly to become pregnant with their first child: Kevin Crooks. Almost immediately after his birth, they wanted more children, but weren't financially stable enough to have another child. They doted on Kevin happily for the first ten years of his life, and the time he was ten years old (and they were thirty) they finally added another addition to their family, a daughter they named Kayla Kourtney Crooks.

Kevin hated having a little sister. Holly and Jason adored baby Kayla, as did the rest of their friends and family. Babies were always big news, but it made for a very envious older brother. Kayla's time in the spotlight was short lived, though. When Kayla was two, Holly had another child, a daughter named Kenzi. Kenzi now got all of the attention that Kayla had and it in turn made Kayla dislike Kenzi the way Kevin had always disliked her. Unlike Kevin, however, Kenzi eventually grew on Kayla and she loved having a playmate, someone closer to her in age. And being older, she felt it was her duty to boss Kenzi around and act as her little leader and second mother. As it was nothing too major, Holly thought it was cute and encouraged the behavior, as the two sisters seemed to get along wonderfully.

Kevin spent his time tormenting Kayla and Kenzi at home, like all good older brothers, but whenever Kayla and Kenzi had problem with other children, he was always there to set things straight. Whenever either girl got injured, Kevin was always hovering over them and making sure they were okay. Kayla came to respect Kevin and like him, even, when he was being nice to her. Kayla was always close to Kenzi, though, and both sisters were sad when Kayla had to start school and she couldn't be around Kenzi as much as she used to.

School turned out to be the family's curse. When Kayla was six and in the first grade, she had a very nice teacher named Brianne Echolls. She was a very sad woman, left by two husbands because she couldn't have children. And Brianne was a woman who desperately wanted children. Brianne seemed to favor Kayla above the other students, as Kayla could have easily passed for her niece or even her own daughter, something noted jokingly by one of the other teachers, but it got into Brianne's head. That year, out of desperation, she began coming up with plans. She was unable to adopt and knew that her only chance was by taking Kayla Crooks away from her family. Brianne turned in her resignation and purchased a home in Greenville, South Carolina. She worked on documents and her story and everything until finally everything was ready. It was towards the end of winter when the school found a replacement or Brianne and that day she worked on her plan.

That night, with the help of her criminal brother, Brianne was able to sneak into the Crooks household while everyone was sleeping, creeping into the room that Kayla and Kenzi shared. Kayla was a heavy sleeper, so it wasn't hard to pick her up out of bed and carefully carry her out of her room and out to their van where Bryan Echolls drove his sister and her new daughter to the airport. On the ride there, though, Kayla woke up and began freaking out, terrified and crying for her mommy and daddy. Brianne, being a familiar face, was able to calm her down for a little while, saying she was bringing her to her mommy and daddy and while she still cried a bit, she managed to calm down. Brianne left with Kayla to South Carolina without much of an issue, but it was getting there that Kayla realized Brianne had lied to her.

Kayla was terrified and she missed her family and cried for them a lot and wouldn't even let Brianne touch her for days. Brianne was patient, though. She tried everything from playing nice, to screaming at her, to spanking her and threatening her. Nothing seemed to work very well and for a while Brianne couldn't leave the house because she'd have to bring Kayla, and she knew that would spell trouble. Finally, though, her more loud and violent methods began working. Brianne told Kayla her new name was Leanne Echolls and Kayla hated it, but agreed to it. She continued school late in the year, but had been home schooled by Brianne before. Kayla kept to herself and was far quieter than she had ever been before. She didn't trust anyone and was scared of everyone. Every time a teacher would grow suspicious of something, Brianne would take Kayla out of a school and if things got too bad, they'd move around to nearby towns.

Things became especially bad when the Crooks family began looking for Kayla, and the search began spreading everywhere. Brianne was forced to leave South Carolina altogether and moved them to Canada for a little while and Kayla finished out elementary school and junior high. Kayla became accustomed to life with Brianne, but attempted to run away on a few occasions. Brianne caught her every time and beat her for it, so Kayla stopped for a while and instead worked on a plan. When she was fourteen and high school age, Brianne was still home schooling her and rarely left for town, so it was hard. Kayla did a lot of research on the internet to begin her plan. It took a little more than a year for Kayla to feel ready and when she was fifteen, she made a break for it. Late at night, Kayla left her house with nothing and ran. She took a trail through a forest she had read about that would lead her to a nearby town where she would feel safer, but Kayla never made it. That night she was attacked and bitten by a lycanthrope. Luckily they weren't able to kill her and she was saved by the Hunters of Artemis. They brought her back to health and offered her a place among them, but Kayla refused. They were vicious man-haters and Kayla had no problem with men and the only issues she had ever had were because of a woman, crazy Brianne. The Hunters spent a few weeks trying to convince her, but finally they gave up and had to move on. None of the Hunters seemed to realize that they had chased off lycanthropes and instead had thought they were something else...So no one was able to warn Kayla about what she was.

Kayla was only out of the forest for a few days when she first shifted and accidentally killed a man in the motel she was staying at. Kayla fled back to the forest and ran until she was too tired to go on. Kayla was too horrified by what she had done to return to the city and instead roamed around the forest until she was sixteen. One night she was attacked in her sleep by a Cyclopes and was being brought back to his lair when other lycanthropes came to her rescue. It was a small group and while the others went to fight off the Cyclopes, one stayed behind to help her and take her somewhere safe where her wounds could be taken care of. The wolf took her back to his pack and they took care of her. The one who brought her back was Derek Howell and the two became close as Derek helped show her around the camp and introduced her to the rest of the pack and along with the pack alpha Garvin Grey, helped her learn more about what she was and how to take care of herself.

Kayla and Derek became very close and Kayla found herself falling in love with him. The first few months of their relationship was blissful, but things turned sour very quickly. The two got into their first fight, and Derek turned a bit physical, a bit rough. It scared Kayla, but by the time the two made up, Derek apologized and Kayla forgave him. The next few months returned to normal, being happy and fun before the same thing happened again. Derek was never full out abusive, but he was known to slap or grab her roughly enough to cause bruising when angry enough. Again, the two made up and reached their first anniversary happily. Kayla decided to give Derek her virginity that night, so when she found out a month later he was cheating on her, she was devastated and broke up with him. Kayla was completely heart broken, but didn't want him to see that. She hid herself away for a few days and when she felt strong enough, she let herself come out and decided to fool around with another man in the pack, Mitch Corely. The two began making out and headed back towards Kayla's tent when Derek stopped them. He pushed Kayla away and shoved Mitch into a tree, threatening him to stay away from his woman. It led to quite a fight between Kayla and Derek about how they had broken up and how Kayla didn't belong to him anymore. The fight ended in angry sex and the two reconciled.

Things were okay for another short time. They had a few arguments here and there, but things seemed to be looking up. The pack moved around, but didn't face much trouble. Things didn't last forever, though. Like always, things between Derek and Kayla went downhill again. It was always the fighting, the hitting, the cheating and the two would get so mad, but rarely would they break up. They've come close on many occasions, but in their five years together they've broken up three times. The last time was only a day before the pack up and left again and already Kayla is regretting that decision, though she keeps telling herself she can't go back to him.
