ABOUTME:
Diana is very mature for being only twenty three years old, and despite physically looking very young, people often confuse her for being older than she is purely from her personality. She is calm and very patient and rational, and doesn't let things get to her head or her heart so much. She is also very wise and self-assured. She loves to read and especially dabbles in very academic studies, such as in history and even subjects she despises such as math and science. She loves to know a lot about everything, even reading up in political matters to have an upper hand in conversation and to make her feel and seem much smarter than most people she talks to. She is very proud in that way...And very proud in a very dangerous way. She's gotten herself in trouble many times over her pride.
Her big weaknesses fall in the category of love. After all she's been through with Royce, she doesn't trust him worth a damn and tells herself repeatedly never to fall for his lies again, and yet each time she can't help but return to him, even abandoning her own children in favor of spending a little time with him. Of everything, Royce is her greatest downfall and she feels like such a fool for still having such feelings for him and still returning to him. Nowadays she's certain she's broken herself of that habit, though some deep part of her knows she could never turn him away.========================================
BORNIN:
Versailles, France
LIVING IN:
New York City, New York
MOTHER:
Athena -- she's the goddess of wisdom, warfare, strategy, and heroism. Diana has only met her mother on a couple of occasions, but Diana has no ill regards for her as a lot of demigods do. She understands why the gods do what they do and despite not knowing her mother too well, all of her studying on her mother and what she stands for makes Diana adore Athena.
FATHER:
Cort Boelyn -- they've had their ups and downs in life, and often enough she felt as if she hated him, but she knows that she did love him very much and that she misses him horribly now that he's gone.
SIBLINGS:
David -- her eldest brother, three years older than her, who she is often enough irritated with because he likes to think and act as if he is better than her, though some part of her loves him.
Darla & Della -- the twins, the same age as Diana (only a couple of months younger) Both were viewed as stupid by Diana in their youth, though they are very kindhearted people who have grown on Diana, especially Della who took her in when she needed it.
Doris -- a few years younger than Diana. She died of SIDS before anyone really got to know her, though young at the time she felt the air of desperation and depression that surrounded her father and step mother at the time.
Derek -- her youngest brother, the spoiled of the bunch. She finds him amusing and charming at the same time and can't help but to be amused by him.
THEKIDS:
Caleb -- her unborn child who she aborted. After her father drilled it into her head that he had been a child, a living being, she began feeling guilty and often dreamed of him being a boy named Caleb, and so if ever there is a reference to him, she thinks of him as her Caleb.
Caroline -- her first child with Royce who she named after the Neil Diamond song "Sweet Caroline". She has a fondness for more old fashioned things, such as the song itself and the names she chose for her children, and Caroline was always among her favorites. She loves her eldest daughter and with pride sees much of Royce within her.
Lydia -- her second child with Royce, her youngest child. She adores her and often sees more of herself in Lydia.
IMPORTANTPEEPS:
Mary Leigh Boelyn -- her step mother who she never really got along with until later years...She is tolerant of Mary Leigh now, but isn't very close to her.
Katherine Petrova -- her best friend in the world, and really her only friend.
OTHERHALF:
Royce Gallagher -- the love of her life, whether she'll admit it or not.
THEPETS:
Furby -- a fluffy white and orange cat. She thought the thing was hideous and thought it more resembled the toy he was named after, but Caroline begged her to get the cat and it's now their favorite family pet
Pokey -- a small turtle she's had since she was sixteen, a present given to her by her step mother. She wasn't fond of him at first and often let Derek play with him who named him Pokey, a shortened version of Slow Poke. Eventually Derek got tired of him and he grew on Diana who took him in.
GOODMEMORY:
Her best memory was possibly, sadly, the first time Royce returned to her.
BADMEMORY:
Her worst memory was possibly, sadly, the first time Royce ever left
HISTORY:
Cort Boelyn was happily married to Mary Leigh and had a beautiful son named David. They lived in Boston at the time and they had a very wonderful, almost picture perfect life. When Cort's father died, however, Cort traveled to France to be with his family for the funeral. His wife was terrified of heights and David, they thought, was too young to be on a plane and so Mary Leigh and David stayed behind. Cort remained in France for a month, helping his mother settle into life without his father. It was in that time that he became captivated by a very gorgeous and brilliant woman. He never learned her name...At least not at that point. They carried on a very passionate love affair for the duration of his trip and sadly she was the thing that kept him in France. When she disappeared, Cort stayed for another half a week before reluctantly returning home.
Mary Leigh became pregnant shortly after Cort returned home and while his happy family was expanding, Cort couldn't feel all of the excitement Mary Leigh was. He still thought of his distant lover who was currently still in France, traveling about in the mortal world during her pregnancy. Life was boring in Boston for a while while Cort took care of his pregnant wife and his young son. Meanwhile, the great goddess Athena gave birth to Cort's demigod daughter in Versailles, France. It didn't take long for Athena to find him, to explain to him and his shocked wife how special this child was and everything they needed to know, instructing them to send her to Camp Half Blood when she was of age. Mary Leigh was horrified and left with David for a while. Cort was alone to deal with his newborn daughter whom he named Diana Juliet Boelyn. Diana, for one of his favorite songs at the time, and Juliet for the Shakespearean character. Boelyn, was of course, their family name...Having some sort of relation to Ann Boelyn, Henry VIII's second wife.
A few months later, Mary Leigh gave birth to twin daughters named Darla and Della and a month later, Mary Leigh and the three children moved back to the house. Cort and Mary Leigh were in marriage counseling, but working on their relationship. Taking care of three children was hard, and put a bigger strain on their marriage. Mary Leigh refused to care anything for Diana, leaving Cort to be her sole caretaker. And when Cort spent too much time with Diana and not enough with the twins, it infuriated Mary Leigh who wondered why he cared more about his bastard child than his "real" children. It led to many fights, but eventually the whole thing calmed down in therapy.
Needless to say, the beginning of Diana's life was nothing short of interesting. David the Momma's Boy didn't like her for all of the grief it gave to Mary Leigh, and Mary Leigh didn't like her for not being her own child. The only people who liked Diana were Cort and the twins, and out of those Diana only had respect for Cort, viewing Darla and Della as incompetent as their mother, even from an early age, in her toddler years, feeling as though she were superior to them, not helping Mary Leigh's opinion of the child at all. It was no secret that Diana was not Mary Leigh's daughter, the woman held no affection towards her and unlike the rest of Cort and Mary Leigh's children, Diana was not a hazel eyed blond, but instead a blue eyed brunette. She was smarter than the others, anyone would admit, learning to walk and talk at earlier ages than any of her siblings...Potty training...The only thing that Diana lacked was reading and writing skills, something she was teased for tremendously not only by classmates but by her own siblings, and even her step mother.
In second grade she was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD. It wasn't until then that Cort remembered some of the many instructions Athena had left him, including this particular and similar trait of all demigods. While her brain was hard-wired for Ancient Greek, Cort still took the time and money to teach her to read and write in English. It was a hard effort that took many years to accomplish. Meanwhile, her classmates now had more ammo to torment her with. Maybe she wasn't stupid after all, but she now had diseases, as they so thought. Diana was fine, however, and didn't care much about what they said; she was too good for them anyway. She only needed one friend, anyway, her best friend.
When she was nine she reported to her father three large, scary men chasing her home before being stopped by a few other men. When the situation repeated, Cort moved them all to New York. It didn't help much. In school one of her teachers bullied her horribly and one day, during after school detention, transformed into a horrible beast that left Diana frightened. Before she could do anything, two men ran forward to ward off the being and escorted Diana home. The two men were kind enough to remind Cort about Camp Half Blood and he reluctantly let Diana go for the summer. She didn't want to go and put up quite a fight, hating her father for "abandoning" her, feeling as if Mary Leigh had finally brain washed him, successfully yelling at them both before following the two men in tears to a place called Camp Half Blood. On the way they explained what she was and what the camp was for.
It was almost hard to believe...Almost. But with everything that had happened to her so far, it wasn't too hard to buy it. Within her first week she was claimed as Athena's daughter. Diana grew to love camp...Perhaps not the people, but she loved being a daughter of Athena and training...She loved training and learning new things. She wasn't so pleased to return home, a fact Cort noticed and was hurt by leading to yet another argument between father and daughter, though the two made up within a few weeks. When she got home, though, she came home to another sister called Doris, who died only a month after Diana's return. Mary Leigh blamed Diana for Doris's death, leading to yet another short lasting separation of the couple.
The routine carried on for the next couple of years, spending the main part of the year attending mortal school in New York and her summers in her favorite place, Camp Half Blood. When she was thirteen at Camp Half Blood, though, things took a turn for the worse. A boy from the Ares cabin despised her...Many people did, labeling her as a snob. He picked on her one day and when he caught her out at night in the woods, arguing with a wood nymph about something or another, Brandt Jones (three years older than her) came and raped her. No one got there in time, though eventually the centaur Chiron heard all of the commotion and came out just as Brandt stood up and spit on her. Diana, as proud as she was, lay sobbing in the mud and grass, naked. Chiron took care of her while Mr. D took care of Brandt, kicking him out of Camp Half Blood. Only the four of them knew what had happened and agreed to keep it a secret. Diana claimed to not want to return to Camp Half Blood the following year.
Once she was home she was glad, until she discovered she was pregnant...At such a young age, she was horrified and begged her older cousin Ray to take her to get an abortion. They forged signatures and did everything they needed and Diana felt so much better when she returned home with her little secret. Sadly Ray broke down and told Cort what she had done. Cort was furious...Sex so young...Getting pregnant...But worse off, having an abortion. Cort and Mary Leigh were strictly Pro Life and fussed at her for hours over the value of human life making Diana feel horrible. She sobbingly confessed to them about the rape, causing the strong Cort to break down into tears and Mary Leigh to grow a soft spot for Diana. Things were calm after that night. It was never mentioned again and Mary Leigh began acting strangely, treating Diana more like her own daughter than a pest and Diana could not decide if she should be grateful or not. At any rate, it didn't help much...Cort and Mary Leigh's preaching made her feel terrible and often led to dreams about giving birth to a son called Caleb and doing everything from strangling him to stabbing him with a knife. They were very gruesome dreams that caused her to wake up crying, Mary Leigh and Cort both rushing to her aid.
Later that year Mary Leigh gave birth to Derek, who Diana, as well as everyone else, resented. He was spoiled, after their losing Doris, and the favorite. He was such a calm and happy baby, much like Diana herself had been. Diana did not like the comparisons. With the fawning over Derek, Diana decided after all to go back to Camp Half Blood, surprised to see a few familiar faces from her mortal school. It didn't bother her much at first. Luckily Brandt was gone, though she was still wary of the Ares cabin. At fourteen she began having feelings for fellow camper and classmate Royce and they began a small relationship. A small relationship that grew over the next year. Diana was happier than ever until the following year she found out she was pregnant shortly after Royce stopped showing up for school. She was terrified but told her parents and decided to keep the baby this time. At sixteen, shortly before camp started, Diana gave birth to a baby girl named Caroline, after her favorite song at the time. Mary Leigh agreed to care for the baby while Diana was at camp and she was encouraged to return to camp. Diana reluctantly agreed. She was horribly depressed with Royce gone, but was determined to act as strong as ever.
When she was seventeen Royce returned for a short time. She never told him about Caroline and spent as much time with him as she could and was doubly as devastated when he disappeared again. Life returned to its normal pattern, disturbed yet again when she was nineteen. She still didn't tell him about Caroline and she carried on with him for a few months. She was out of the house by then and living with Della with Caroline. Della agreed to care for Caroline while Diana enjoyed herself with Royce. When he left again, she hated herself for ever loving him and was even more horrified to discover she was pregnant again. She had another girl she named Lydia, born shortly after an attack of a Cyclopes, rescued by two satyrs and a centaur who dragged her off fighting. She no longer went to Camp...She figured she was old enough to stop, plus she had two daughters to care for. Della helped with the children and Diana has grown more respect for her. A year after Lydia's birth Cort died and Diana was beginning to lose herself a bit...she was feeling more and more out of touch, more depressed than someone as strong as her should have been and forced herself out of her funk the best she could. Life has been as calm and normal as ever. Diana often leaves her daughters in Della's care...She believes she isn't cut out for motherhood and has too much to live for to care for two young girls.========================================
