Today was just like any other day at Camp Halfblood. It was just that typical day where you would work on fighting skills and eat of course. Nothing new. Selena went to the dining pavilion to get something to eat. She was hungry, but not dreadful hungry she just wanted to grab something to eat to satisfy how she felt. She looked up to the other demigods who actually had good powers. She felt useless just being the daughter of the moon goddess. She always wondered why she couldn't have been the daughter of one of the more powerful goddess or gods it just wasn't fair and yet she never even got a chance to see her mother.
She looked around the almost full room and saw other people talking with others and gossiping about how great they were and all of that. Deep down she felt left out it was like no one really cared to talk to her at all. Selena felt like she didn't fit in here and that maybe it would be best if she scampered off back to New York City and spend time with her old man. In a way she knew that she shouldn't feel down on herself for not being as powerful as the other Demigods here but she never saw the point. She felt rather looked down upon then looked up as someone who liked to stay up in the late hours, but that was just how she had always been.
Selena sat at an empty table with just a salad on her plate. Her eye's grazed the room. It was like ever since she had arrived here her life was completely different now and it was nothing like it was when she was back in highschool when she was actually popular and people loved her. Her fingers made a tapping noise on the table as she seemed to just look clear ahead of her. She hadn't made any friends yet and she was just an outcasted demigod. She pushed her Salad aside and placed her head on the rock solid table. In a way she just didn't wanna be here any longer even though she knew this was where she belonged for now, but she just couldn't help herself and knowing that this place was just not for her. "Why the hell am i here?" She mumbled to herself with her head still placed on the table.
Instead of still being down on herself she lifted up her head for a split second and wondered what the other people would think of her, but at the same time she was thinking screw it and placed her round head on the table and tapped her fingers on the table just for some sort of amusement.

Dinner was always an amusing time of the day for Vienna. All around her, demigods of all ages busied themselves with chatter and food. Nymphs scurried around, offering extra servings or making idle chitchat with some of the campers. As usual, the majority of the nymphs had chosen to sit at table 12, with Lord Dionysus. Some things never changed, and Vienna loved the routine that had continued on at Camp. It was extremely comforting and more often than not, she went to the pavilion for the atmosphere rather than sustenance. Tonight was one of those times as well. Vienna was not particularly hungry or tired this evening, having spent literally no time at the arena or training areas. But if asked, she'd obviously tell Chiron that she was out with the pegasi, brushing up on her horsemanship. In actuality, she had been at the amphitheater with a few of her siblings and a handful of nymphs.
As children of Apollo, they were all gifted in the performing arts amongst other things. Vienna smiled a little wistfully as her mind called up the music they had made earlier today. It sounded heavenly, perhaps, Apollo would be pleased to hear them? They always started off their sessions with a song dedicated to their sire. However, before she could explore that thought, she was quickly jostled back into reality as one of her brothers accidentally elbowed her. Vienna scowled and flicked him at the side of the head and he merely offered an apologetic grin. She rolled her eyes, but returned her attention back to her own plate. She had already burned a good portion of her own meal for her father. The rest was for herself.
Absentmindedly, she shoved a spoonful of rice into her mouth and chewed. She had half a mind to throw out the rest, but then stopped. She had a full day of archery practice tomorrow and she just knew she was going to be late and skip breakfast. It was better to eat. The conversation faded out all around her as her eyes wandered across the pavilion. Her siblings, bright and cheerful as she was, was used to her trailing off in the middle of a conversation and didn't mind her. Quietly, Vienna observed her surroundings. There were a lot more tables now in order to let the children of minor gods have a place among them. Vienna was all for equality and recognition, but she also thought it was a waste of space. Most of the tables only had three or four demigods. Couldn't they just sit where they wanted? She had plenty of friends from the other cabins, but never got the chance to socialize during mealtimes. It was a shame, really. There were some lonely demigods out there.
As soon as she thought of lonely demigods, she immediately caught sight of the epitome of loneliness across the room. It was Selena something. They had never been introduced, so Vienna didn't feel that bad for not knowing her last name. But yes, at the moment, that particular demigod was the poster child of loneliness, not that Vienna would ever voice that thought aloud. She was named in honour of her mother, Selene, as she was named after her father, Apollo. But that was where all the similarities ended, as far as she knew. They were almost completely opposite outwardly. Her father was the sun, her mother was the moon. Somehow, Vienna still wanted to make some kind of contact with her. Tilting her head, Vienna quietly observed the older girl. She was looking sullenly ahead, almost as if she was looking past everyone. Her salad seemed to have remained untouched. She was about to wave to her, but Selena had managed to block her field of vision by placing her head on her table. Drat. Perhaps, she'll introduce herself another day, another time, perhaps never. Vienna looked away and tuned into one of her sisters regaling them with a story. The lucky girl had gone on a quest a few weeks ago and her stories were still in high demand. Vienna managed to forget about Selena briefly. After all, perhaps the girl wasn't even lonely. She just looked rather lonely at the moment, that's all. Heck, she would be lonely if she was to sit alone for dinner.
By the time her sister was finished with her tale, Vienna was all set to leave. She had somehow managed to clear her plate and all she wanted to do was go back to the cabins. However, as she got up, she caught sight of Selena again. Her head was still down, and she was tapping the table in boredom. Before tonight, she had never paid much mind to her. She was older than Vienna and to be honest, she was a little intimidated by her. She had heard that Selena was actually quite dominating when put up to task. As a naturally laidback and easygoing teenager, Vienna wanted to steer clear of her. But now she felt the faint prick of guilt. She should say hi, and she won't push that back to next week, or next month either, she decided.
She got up, sad goodbye to her tablemates and carried her plate and cutlery away. With every step she took, she heard the noise around her rise - was it her nerves? Probably. Although she was considered a 'party girl', rarely did she ever go against a set rule. And it was clearly stated, you always sit at your own table. Always. She had half a mind to just walk straight out of the pavilion after putting her plates away, but finally, her guts kicked in. Ah, there was her hero-in-training bravery. Even then, it took her a while to get to Selena's table. She often stopped by to other cabins to hold brief conversations. If any of the staff noticed or even cared, she didn't dare check.
Finally, she reached Selena's table. Whether the older girl noticed her arrival or not, she wasn't sure. At times, when she tuned out of her surroundings, it actually took a few violent shakes before she returned to reality. Hopefully, she wouldn't have to do that to Selena. No one takes being harassed by a virtual stranger too kindly. She paused awkwardly and shuffled her feet a little, hoping the noise would rouse Selena. "Um, hi? Selena?" Belatedly, a new idea came to her. How would it look if Selena just blew her off right in the middle of this pavilion? How would she take that crippling blow to her pride? It was too late now to regret, honestly. Why didn't she have that thought when she was on the way here? "I'm Apollina. I mean, well, my middle name is Apollina. I'm Vienna. Funny story, really. My mom named me Vienna since that's where she met my father. Real original, right? She might as well name me after the hotel they hooked up in...er...Ha. Ha. Um..." Vienna trailed off awkwardly, and felt her face heat up. Great. Every time she was nervous, she ended up babbling. What a great first impression...She sighed.
