Dory is far from a people person. She's very anti social and isn't really comfortable being around a lot of people, especially around strangers. She prefers keeping to herself and doing activities that require just one person, such as reading or writing or even playing solitaire. She does hate the loneliness and hates that she isn't as easy going or friendly as Eden is. She envies her sister more than anything for how easy things seem to come to her.

She is strong, though. She does like who she is and despite sometimes wishing she were better with things, she's comfortable with herself (for the most part) and doesn't change, either out of fear to do so or knowing deep down that changing won't make her happy. She just wishes people would like her for who she is and she's tired of people expecting her to change. Dory is very smart and very determined. She is very loving towards her friends and family and the people who are in her life mean the world to her.

GOODMEMORY:
Her best memory, sadly, is probably the sleep over at Bree's house where Bree was dared to kiss her. She knows it meant nothing to Bree, but it meant everything to her.
BADMEMORY:
It is hard for her to decide what memory was worse: her father dying or being raped. Her father died when she was five and it was devastating, but again so was being raped by the boy who bullied her her whole life.
HISTORY:
Bradley Blake was only fifteen when he got Veronica Childress pregnant. He managed to talk her out of abortion and considered adoption. He was there with her the whole time. His parents kicked him out of his house so he quit school and got a job working off shore for a while. He couldn't be around Veronica much, but he could at least make enough money to take care of her and his baby. He worked two weeks straight and had one week off after that, a cycle that repeated for a while. He managed to save up enough to buy them an apartment where she would live while he continued working. Veronica went into labor, having their baby boy while he was away and didn't bother contacting him. The time Bradley returned, Veronica had skipped town and left their baby alone in the apartment. Bradley rushed the boy, he called Ferris, to the emergency room. He had been alone for a couple of days. He hadn't eaten or drank anything, he had soiled himself...He had been crying and lonely.

Veronica was taken into custody and Bradley was summoned to court to testify against her. Veronica went to jail and Bradley was left alone to take care of his son. By now he loved him too much to give him up and worked two jobs to care for Ferris. His day job allowed Ferris to go to daycare while his night job as a babysitter allowed him to bring Ferris with him. It was a hard life, being a single father at fifteen, but Bradley was determined to do it. They had a hard life, but Bradley cared about his son more than anything. For a few years things were much the same...Struggling to pay bills and being stressed over jobs and over Ferris. When Ferris was four and Bradley was nineteen, his mother Sheridan came by to give Bradley a break. She agreed to take care of Ferris for the weekend while Bradley just relaxed and enjoyed himself. Sheridan had divorced Bradley's father and was free to care for her son all she pleased.

Brad's first night of freedom was spent sleeping, but over the course of the weekend he visited a bar and a club, each other night spent sleeping with a different woman. He had had his fun and enjoyed his youth for a bit before returning to his duties as a father. Sheridan moved in with Brad to help take care of Ferris and help out with the money issues by offering her own paychecks from her job owning a local diner. Things in life were a bit easier, though Brad never let himself rely too heavily on his mother and did his best to care for his son to provide him with a good life. There was a very unexpected turn of events nine months later. He was visited by one of the women he had slept with, though it took a while to remember that. She handed him a baby girl and explained that she was special, leaving out enough details to leave Bradley confused.

The woman, though he didn't know it, was the Greek goddess Demeter. Brad was stunned and horrified, already calculating how much money another baby was going to cost...But looking down at his precious daughter it was hard to imagine giving her up. He called her Eden Sarah Blake and immediately the rest of the family fell in love with her. Only a couple of weeks later he got a similar visit, from the Greek goddess Hebe (though again, he had no idea who she was) who left him with another baby girl he named Theodora Jennifer Blake. He was twenty years old with three children...Life had become hard again, but he was determined to provide for his family. Over the course of the next year he met and fell in love with a woman named Natalie who became a motherly figure in the children's lives. She treated them as if they were her own children and moved in after a year, helping take care of them financially and maternally.

Their little family was a happy one. Survival was hard, but they made it work. As the children grew older, things became a bit easier since they were better able to care for themselves. Ferris loved teasing his sisters and the three carried on a usual brother and sisters relationship, though Eden and Dory were closer than most sisters were. Her whole life seemed perfect when she turned three. They saved up enough money for a house. It was a small yellow house with a white picket fence. Grandma Sheridan, Brad, Natalie, Ferris, Eden, and Dory all had their dream home and they seemed to be a very happy family for another couple of years. Dory started school and while Eden easily made friends, Dory was bullied. She was homely as a child and always stuck in a book. She was so different from her golden, beautiful sister Eden and it only gave the kids more ammo against her. Dory hated school for socialization, but loved it for the learning and did her best to stay near Eden as much as possible. No one dared bully her around Eden...Most were too focused on Eden to notice her, honestly.

Her elementary school career started a train of many years of torment and bullying, though Dory never said anything to anyone about it. When she was five, things took a turn for the even worse. It was bad enough being torment at school, but then her dad died. Brad and Natalie went out one night to celebrate their anniversary. A truck driver had gotten drunk that night and was driving an 18 wheeler. It was dark and considering how big the truck was, it would have been impossible for Brad to move out of the way in time. There was no way anyone could have survived the crash. The family was devastated. Sheridan mourned the loss of her son and did the best she could to console her heartbroken grandchildren. Dory hated Natalie and Bradley for a while, for dying and leaving her and them. She did her best to stay strong, though, but at five it was hard and for days all she could do was cry. Her grades went down and when she and Eden had their grades dropping, no one thought much about it, putting it to grief over the death of their father and somewhat step mother.

While people seemed to feel bad for Eden, they only used it more against Dory, especially one guy named Dwain. He was the biggest bully of all and while he drooled over Eden, he seemed to hate Dory...Abusing her from everything starting with her hair color, to her freckles, to her classes, and to her "stupidity" even. A few years later, Eden and Dory were both diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia finally, but that wasn't enough for Dory, to have an excuse. She worked hard on getting past her learning disabilities and studied hard to learn English and math and the other subjects it affected. When junior high rolled around, Grandma Sheridan finally let them use make up and hair dye and Dory worked hard at making herself pretty. She was never as gorgeous as Eden, but she did look better than usual and even started getting a little bit of attention. She even started making friends, like Bree Fox and Adam Michels. Dwain still bullied her, but it was a bit more bearable, actually having friends.

In junior high, Dory found herself attracted to girls, especially her best friend Bree. For a few years, Dory was nearly obsessed with the girl and one slumber party, being dared to kiss Bree, was the best moment of her life. At that point, she was certain. But it was hard, considering she lived in a small community of Jesus freaks who viewed homosexuality as the ultimate sin. She never told anyone, even Eden, her secret. In her sophomore year of high school, though, things changed in a very confusing manner. Early that year she and Adam stayed up late on his front porch, drinking alcohol Adam's dad let them have. The two were laughing one minute and the next thing Dory knew they were drunk and in his bedroom. Dory lost her virginity that night to her best friend and after she started feeling for Adam what she had for Bree. It confused her...When she started looking at boys the way she always had girls. Was it because she had lost her virginity to Adam that she felt that way for him and boys? Or had her feelings about girls always been a lie? It's a question to this day she has yet to answer.

Three months later, Dory was walking home from spending time with Bree. It was a safe neighborhood...They had always thought so, at least. Midway there, though, drunk Dwain Carter ran out of his house and attacked her. He pulled her into the woods and raped her, teasing her and spitting on her afterwords, kicking her a bit before raping her again. It was late the time she got home and she washed her clothes in secret and sat in the shower and cried. The bruises were easy to disguise but for one on her arm she blamed on running into the table walking into the house. Grandma Sheridan fussed at her and Dory was sent on her way to school. She felt dirty and she hated herself and felt humiliated every time she saw Dwain and she wanted to cry every time he looked her way.

About a month later, Eden came home and cried and begged Grandma Sheridan to move. Hearing Eden's story of nearly being raped broke Dory's heart and in tears she confessed her own story and hugged Eden and did her best to comfort her. Grandma Sheridan agreed and by the end of the week the family was on a plane to New York City. The girls were put in a public school but things didn't stay good for long. Towards the end of the year a lot of the teachers became mean and almost scary and it took being dragged off by some strange boy that Eden and Dory learned the truth. The boy was a satyr and he went to their grandmother and explained that the girls were demigods.

That summer Eden and Dory went to Camp Half Blood but were never claimed. It left Dory disappointed and angry with her real mother and bitter towards her father. How much more dangerous New York was than Louisiana, though, Eden and Dory were told by their grandmother to stay all year instead of just for the summer. Dory's convinced life couldn't get any worse.
